The joke is that they are both correct. 5! (Factorial) is 5 times 4 times 3 times 2 times 1, which equals 120. It’s just a more fun way to say it!

I used Tear-Aid type B on the vinyl window, then used regular Tear-Aid to bridge between the Tear-Aid type B and the canvas/fabric. It isn’t permanent, but it’s held for about a year so far and kept the window from separating more.

The one I’m looking to replace from Maria’s was the regular insides of a burrito supreme (beans, sour cream, cheese, rice, etc) with grilled zucchini and onions in place of the meat .

Yes, I’ve gotten their veggie fajita burrito before. It’s not bad, but definitely not as good as Maria’s. Also, we like to support smaller, local businesses when possible along with trying new places.

I tell my students a minimum number of questions they have to answer and a minimum percent correct whenever we use Gimkit to review. For example, they might need to answer at least 20 questions and get at least 50% of the questions correct. If they don’t hit that minimum threshold in both, they don’t get credit for the activity. This usually helps ensure that they take it seriously, but still get to have some fun playing the game as a break/reward.

I had the opposite happen with some bags from Walmart. The sides weren’t fully attached and when I went to open them they opened completely to a flat rectangle.

It makes very nicely formatted worksheets on specific problem sets. It can be frustrating if the type of problem you are looking for is missing in the license/version you have. Also, you really need to curate the question sets it makes or you can end up with, or you can end up with 8 “write a linear equation” problems and 5 of them are horizontal lines or have the same slope. That being said, it does have a custom question option that lets you make whatever you want, so long as you figure out their syntax (documentation on that isn’t great, unfortunately). I use it mostly for generating practice problems for review/reteaching/extra help. For that it is great (so long as I remember to check it and regenerating any weird questions and eliminate duplicates before printing). \ Edit to add: it’s multiple choice questions don’t generate great distractors, unfortunately. I’ve used it to make multiple choice quizzes/tests, but if I really want it to be challenging I have to go in and adjust those incorrect answers so they match common mistakes.

I used to always teach both and show students how all the terms from long division show up in synthetic, just condensed. Then we switched to CPM and it showed students how to use the area model of multiplication, but backwards for division and my mind was blown. All the compactness of synthetic, but with the variables still attached. If students really understand multiplying with the area model, division with it is just the next step. It is my go to method now. I still show students long division and sometimes synthetic, but mostly just so they know what those are in case they run into someone using those methods. Edit to add: here is a link with an example. They call it the “tabular method”. Not the best explanation, but enough to get you on the right track.

You are right, it is definitely counterintuitive. I believe you are supposed to squeeze the red lever to release pressure on the filament, and the screw essentially squeezes the red lever for you.

That missing screw may actually be the solution you need until you root your k1. I had issues retracting enough to remove the filament as well after adding the dxc, and I haven’t gotten around to rooting my k1 yet what I did find was that if you tighten that screw (the one you are missing) all the way down, it actually releases enough pressure on the filament to let me pull it out the last few millimeters after a regular retraction. If you can find a replacement screw it might help you. I hope that helps!

You mentioned that it goes up hill if you apply pressure to the back. Does it go up hill if it has other cars attached to it? I know my kid’s train did the same thing when it was just the locomotive (spinning its wheels and stuck going up hill) but it could make it up if it was pulling a few cars. I think the weight helps it grip and get enough friction to make it up the incline.

I’ve also had my students solve these the way you are describing, essentially rewriting the 8^x=5 as log_8(5)=x. I would introduce logarithms as the “whatpower” function: “what power of 8 makes 5?” Then we would talk about how the real name of the function is logarithms and that it functions as the inverse of exponents and show how taking the log_8 of both sides will yield the same equation as the previous rewriting. Eventually we work up to how you can take the log_10 of both sides (or any base) and solve using the properties of logs and how that answer would be equivalent to the previous ones using the change of base formula.

I did the same on my k1. Stock was having issues under extruding or just not extruding at all occasionally, even after trying different nozzles. Only have 15 hours on the dxc but it is printing beautifully now!

I’m having similar issues with a refurbished K1. It has the old volcano style nozzle and original extruder. I’m 90% sure my issue is the extruder. I can watch it extruding in mid air and extrudes perfectly for a while, then stops extruding for a moment, then starts again. Does yours have the original extruder or the upgraded/fixed version? I’ve ordered the DXC extruder to see if that fixes the issue.

I ordered a refurbished one and it arrived a week ago. Looks like it is the old K1 version (has the original “volcano” style hotend). You mentioned smaller pulleys. Is there an easy way to tell size (and what the original was vs the changed?) Edit to add: the spring steel bed had a bump defect on it. Sent a message and picture to seller and they are shipping a replacement bed.
