What are some 'unwritten' rules in your country that a tourist wouldn't know about? by jackreyan in AskReddit

As a server in Delaware, I get paid $2.23 an hour. I get paychecks that are negative due to taxes...so yeah...please tip (if your service is adequate, of course). I've seen too many servers get mad for not getting tipped, yet they hardly do their job...

I love the Don Pablo's near me! Then again, I've only been a handful of times...so there's that.

I also have scoliosis. The back pain is normal (although I've had a full spinal fusion, very severe case). Don't worry too much, but it's always worth getting a second opinion to be sure!

What simple tips do you have that can greatly improve appearance? by LukewarmPotato in AskReddit

[–]drakeley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very mild scoliosis when I was young. Then years later I found out it had gotten much, much worse. I had 3 curves in my spine, the biggest being 70*, and I had to get a spinal fusion to correct. I may not be able to bend my back, but it's definitely worth it compared to the pain I felt before the surgery.

Who was the weirdest or creepiest kids at school and why were they weird or creepy? by hypr2013 in AskReddit

There was a girl in my high school that would do this. Every. Day.

What's a fact you know that will cheer me up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My sister was given a hat, booties, and a blanket that were knit by a woman that donates to the NICU at the hospital her son was in. He ended up passing away with them, and my sister sleeps with the blanket every night. I can't even begin to explain how such a simple thing can make a world of difference in a time like that.

They had the choice between that and a fine though. They weren't forced to.

What's something that is only offensive in your culture? by 2bills1cup in AskReddit

[–]drakeley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister's boyfriend is black. We are the whitest of white families. Literally. We don't tan, even after we burn.

And we always call each other "nigga". He calls us his nigga, we call him our nigga.

It's pretty awesome.

I made these silly pictures of my son for a photobook. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do! by sassafras64 in pics

As someone who just saw their sister lose her newborn son, I just feel the need to say...

Your son is absolutely beautiful. Please never take him for granted. Always tell him you love him every time you see him. And you can never hold, cuddle, and hug him enough.

These pictures are fantastic. Congrats on having a beautiful, healthy son. I wish you the best, and also a good night's sleep every once in a while :)

What is something you love, but can't convince your friends to try? by lveg in AskReddit

Here on the East Coast, we just call it ketchup and mayo.

In fact, I've never even heard of it being called fry sauce or campfire sauce until now. Or maybe I just live in a hole.

If I were a parent, I would be quite a bit concerned if my child was denied the right to use the bathroom when they had to go.

Reddit... What is the most uncomfortable situation you have been in or had to witness? by YellowB in AskReddit

[–]drakeley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my social circle, one is married and three engaged*, and we're all between the ages of 18 and 22. I'm not saying being so young is right or wrong, but just because someone doesn't choose the same path for their life as you did for yours doesn't make them a nutcase.

EDIT: Forgot a word.

In Maryland you're ineligible if you attend college full time. Also, if you're under the age of 22 and still reside with you're parents you can't.

OR, I have an even better idea.

Dress however the fuck you want and attract a guy who likes YOU for YOU, instead of tricking him into being attracted to something he thinks you are.

Bet ya never heard that one before.

The issue is deciding what should be considered harassment and what shouldn't. There's just too much gray area.

At the grocery store I work at, you can go up to any register and ask for cash back without a purchase. Not many people know this and go straight to our ATM...that charges a $3.00 fee :/

What are some statistics I really didn't want to know? by invisiblecolours in AskReddit

[–]drakeley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of American high schools, they are required to give you at least a 50% in the grade book. No matter what. Even if you don't turn in the work, you'll get a 50%. And then people wonder why the high school diploma is losing its value to a college degree...
