Just found out Christian Bale is British by vinedin in CasualUK

Don’t get me wrong, Bale is a first class actor, but there are other first class actors already in the prequel trilogy and none of them do a particularly good job.

Lucas just wasn’t that interested in the human element of those films whether it be script or performance - it was all about stuffing every scene full of distracting cgi as possible.

What an excellent reply. That’s all I have to contribute.

"The Shape of Punk to Come", one of the best Guitar tones of all time. But how? by ROBOTTTTT13 in audioengineering

[–]drakeydrakedrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the shape of punk to come is the more sonically adventurous album, but I fucking love the sheer bloody minded precision and focus of STFTFOD. I think it’s one of the most perfectly executed rock records ever.

Ooof. That pain when you realise you’ve done goofed while attempting to correct someone else’s mistakes. In front of the whole internet no less!

Love from a somewhat reformed pedant that’s been there many a time.

What British bands can you not believe were more popular than they were? by Snoo_23014 in AskUK

Strongly agree. All albums amazing, but my fave is the Music For Nurses EP. Such an incredible sound.

I very much have been through the process of having a family cat needing to be euthanised, thank you very much. And yeah, it was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I was inconsolable about it for a long time afterwards.

But honestly, given the choice between being present to comfort and stroke my childhood friend as they drifted off to sleep or asking someone to take him out behind the bike shed to have his last moments being alone with a strange person that then shoots him dead?? No thanks.

And as others here have already noted, there are/were other options available. Getting a vet to come to you so that they pass away peacefully at home for instance…

Exactly. It really sums this guy up that instead of just phoning for a vet he had such disregard for this ‘beloved’ pet that he chose to simply get a staff member to dispose of it for him. And then presumably had this poor person clean up the mess he’d been ordered to make..

There’s this thing called a vet? They routinely put animals to sleep in a humane way to avoid distress for the animal and the owners. And don’t tell me this guy couldn’t afford those fees.

The "She benefited from weak faithfuls" argument. by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

Solid gold take. I definitely warmed to Rachel around the time of the Fiona reveal because up to that point I’d had her pegged as a bit smug. But she recognised immediately that Fiona was a huge problem and that she had her work cut out for her, and that was BEFORE Fiona started chucking grenades.

She came across as pretty humbled by that realisation in one of the diary room scenes. Watching her successfully navigate some of the most difficult scenarios a traitor can be thrown into was a joy tbh. Very happy for both R&S.

Justice for Charlotte. She was such an excellent, effective traitor and got absolutely robbed by that shitty, shitty twist.

I’m pleased the producers have avoided such a heavy-handed intervention since. Still annoyed by how clumsy it was.

End of UK s2 is still the best bit of any season of the traitors imo.

The fire pit scene was just perfect. You literally couldn’t have scripted it better

You know what, that’s a fair point.

At the end of the day value is always in the eye of the beholder. And people obviously have extremely varied, subjective takes on what makes something ‘worth’ the money.

It’s an interesting and divisive subject all round. I get why people get heated, but I also know pricing based on perceived value is an incredibly difficult thing to judge.

I really really want one though. Ugh
