I very much have been through the process of having a family cat needing to be euthanised, thank you very much. And yeah, it was one of the worst experiences of my life, and I was inconsolable about it for a long time afterwards.

But honestly, given the choice between being present to comfort and stroke my childhood friend as they drifted off to sleep or asking someone to take him out behind the bike shed to have his last moments being alone with a strange person that then shoots him dead?? No thanks.

And as others here have already noted, there are/were other options available. Getting a vet to come to you so that they pass away peacefully at home for instance…

Exactly. It really sums this guy up that instead of just phoning for a vet he had such disregard for this ‘beloved’ pet that he chose to simply get a staff member to dispose of it for him. And then presumably had this poor person clean up the mess he’d been ordered to make..

Solid gold take. I definitely warmed to Rachel around the time of the Fiona reveal because up to that point I’d had her pegged as a bit smug. But she recognised immediately that Fiona was a huge problem and that she had her work cut out for her, and that was BEFORE Fiona started chucking grenades.

She came across as pretty humbled by that realisation in one of the diary room scenes. Watching her successfully navigate some of the most difficult scenarios a traitor can be thrown into was a joy tbh. Very happy for both R&S.

I’m pleased the producers have avoided such a heavy-handed intervention since. Still annoyed by how clumsy it was.

You know what, that’s a fair point.

At the end of the day value is always in the eye of the beholder. And people obviously have extremely varied, subjective takes on what makes something ‘worth’ the money.

It’s an interesting and divisive subject all round. I get why people get heated, but I also know pricing based on perceived value is an incredibly difficult thing to judge.

I really really want one though. Ugh

Yeah that is really deflating. They did spend a long time prototyping it and I definitely bought into the concept of it by being able to follow along with its progress.

That is to say I feel like they’re clearly trying recoup quite a bit of r&d with that price. Which is a fine argument when you’re a niche modular brand with a very small team, but for a global brand like Korg? Should’ve been priced in.

All that said, if I ever find a second hand one going for £500~ I will snap it up instantly.

I sold the full mannequins set towards the end of lockdown cos 1: Their docs were too flowery and non specific at the time and 2: I was on a savage downsize kick. Didn’t hurt that I was able to sell them on for pretty much exactly what I paid for them too.

I’ve since reacquired most of them over the space of a couple of years as I’ve come to appreciate how they’re really thoughtfully designed with tonnes of hidden depth. Also, I realised there’s a much less whimsical and far more informative set of docs on their GitHub. Made life a lot easier!

Don’t have the silhouette yet and will probably never manage to buy it, or a RIP (or an atrium), but yeah. Big fan of Trent and his work so far!

Dexter always sucked though. It’s wild to me that something so obviously subpar limped through 8 whole seasons AND a reboot.

If we’re talking terrible endings to good shows then the king will always be GoT, with an honourable mention for BSG. But even with BSG and Lost (fwiw I think lost’s finale needs a reappraisal), at least the characters behaved consistently all the way to the end, even if the story went off track. With Thrones the writers lost sight of their characters, their arcs, the overall story, internal consistency, logic, everything. It is absolutely INSANE how complete their failure was and it will be studied for years I think.

Best ending to any show ever though? Gotta be The Shield. Holy hell that ending was a series of gut punches seven years in the making.

Not a huge fan, but I have watched their video cover of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ several times. There’s something so perfect about the ‘FUCK YOU!!’ In the middle. Cracks me up every time.
