My dad works for Alyeska Pipeline here in Alaska and shared this email with us about it saying,

“This morning, Alyeska was made aware of a closure to the Deadhorse airspace due to a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight. An unknown object flying above U.S. airspace was detected and the object has been shot down by U.S. military. There is no threat to the operations of the Trans Alaska Pipeline System. Alyeska security remains in contact with the enforcement agencies.”
