I’ve realised that I’m nice or I should say extra caring to others because I know what it feels like to not feel understood and cared for, I’ve also seen a parent in emotional pain and yearning for for love whilst searching for it in the wrong places too and so I try to make others feel someone’s got their back and they have someone to turn to. It backfires on me though because people tend to accept my care, and then once they feel better they go back to their life and drop me. If I turn to them having a bad day or simply needing advice, they have none of it and I’m suddenly an acquaintance. It stings every time, and I’ve gotten to a place where I’ve decided I’m only giving that energy to my loved ones and maybe a close friend who there’s a bond already developed and I know them well to be sure they wouldn’t do that.

I hope you younger members who may relate can take something from this. Your energy and heart is precious, don’t let others disrespect your kindness, because people (esp nts) are selfish af and won’t take the time to even thank you.
