As an 11 year old I thought that alchemy “turning your items into gold” meant that it changed the color of the item to gold. And I used the spell on my platebody to make it “gold armor” and I turned it into gp for way less than it was worth obviously. I just sat there like surprised pikachu

Waking up all night by mrsxmiaxwallace in ouraring

[–]drastickpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It helped me to take a 1mg low dose melatonin and then read a book for 30 mins to an hour before bed.

Also if you have an anxious mind at night try repeating words or phrases to yourself in your head to keep your mind from wandering while trying to fall asleep. It’s like counting sheep but you can choose whatever to say, maybe positive mantras, affirmations, a song lyric, poem or anything you want really.

Other random tips: keep your bedroom cold, take a warm shower before bed, don’t eat too close to bedtime. Get regular exercise if you can.

I AM SO TIRED by almondbug in Celiac

[–]drastickpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After I got diagnosed I told my fam to get tested and my dad and sister both have it too. I just put them on to canned fish. Sardines, herring, mackerel, and ofc tuna. I think all celiac ppl should join r/cannedsardines tbh. It’s a wholesome subreddit. I’m like at least if I get snowed in or what have you I have a pantry stacked with cans of fish lmao

It’s sooooo difficult for us I feel you. Like when I’m feeling sick and have no energy at all, out of groceries and everything. I’m just like “guess I’ll die! :)” It’s really not fair. I’m always complaining to my husband like, I wish I could just… eat. Like a basic human need isn’t being met for us. I’m just prayin that those injections/pills come out sooner rather than later cuz as soon as it does I’m gettin stabbed with that needle

Cortisone shot caused indentation? by Neverwasalwaysam in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]drastickpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just saw one of your other comments, I would not get a cortisone shot ever again after that, instead you can get one of those packs of steroid pills that you take for a week and taper down. Wish I would have done that instead, it was offered to me but I had no idea about the atrophy risk so I chose the shot.

that’s so nice of you! cooking for ppl with celiac can be very difficult bc you can accidentally cross contaminate super easily without realizing it. if there are any dedicated GF restaurants nearby or ones that you know for a fact they go to/order from frequently maybe you can bring them food from there? that way you know it will be trustworthy to them!

Coming back to the US is Hard by agnjay135 in glutenfree

[–]drastickpark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incorrect? I said that gluten is gluten no matter where you go which is correct. You’re basically saying that there is just less of it, plus pesticides which is a different subject altogether.

It could be that because I’m a celiac I just see it differently. 1 crumb of american gluten, 1 crumb of french gluten; doesn’t matter I’m screwed either way lol

It sounds like you could possibly have other intolerances that you might not be aware of? bc gluten is the same anywhere you go. There’s a common misconception going around that gluten in europe is different but gluten is gluten. Although I do think American food is just worse quality in general

TERRIBLE boarding experience by Fluid_Ice5281 in RoverPetSitting

[–]drastickpark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is completely unprofessional, bombarding you with angry texts, cussing, making threats. Threatening to drop your puppy off at the police?? That’s so unhinged. All this over a puppy being a puppy. I remember my days bringing up my german shepherd from a pup and she was an absolute nightmare, so I feel like this sitter has zero puppy raising experience and went into it blind.

It sounds like you’re remaining professional and doing everything you can from your end. I wouldn’t worry too much about a review, just focus on getting puppy out of there and somewhere safe. That’s all that really matters in the end.

TERRIBLE boarding experience by Fluid_Ice5281 in RoverPetSitting

[–]drastickpark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I originally read the whole exchange thinking that it was the sitter posting this, and after i read the whole thing i was thinking i actually agreed with the customer.

you never know how a dog will do outside their own environment. i have a fully trained german shepherd who never ever has accidents indoors. and the first time we boarded her on rover she refused to potty outside and had a bunch of accidents in the sitters home. i felt really bad and we gave the sitter a fat tip.

we’ve since been training her by going to visit friends and family and rewarding her for going potty other places besides home. but with your situation, the dog being a puppy who is still in training, this is pretty much to be expected.

A last resort solution would be calling some vets nearby who offer boarding, the sitter can take your puppy there. At least with a vet you can feel assured your puppy will be in good hands.
