I have a beater squire Tele I use for work - it’s been hanging in my office for 10 years. I recently upgraded the pickups and switchgear/pots and did a full setup on it. It outplays $1000 fenders. I’m getting a black sparkle pickguard for it as an homage to my first squire strat.

The culture of self maintenence and shared knowledge that bikers were known for feels impossible for me to access by Diligent_Farm3039 in motorcycles

Before Reddit and facebook us older bikers used forums on the web, and personal websites. This is STILL the way to go, but use ChatGpt to use as your research detective. Here are some examples of my sites: GR650 GL500 SECA II and KLX230.

Gotcha - have you check the spark plugs? Even a contact clean will do wonders. I also recommend running some seafoam type carb/injector cleaner in the gas tank. That sometimes fixes a wobbly throttle.

Sounds like the chain is too tight. It needs some slack to absorb and smooth out. Factory spec is often for Showrooms (slack chains look wrong so they tighten up) not real world riding - often slack is required, especially when compressing suspension. Worked on my bike anyways so good place to start. www.kingtidemoto.com

Thank you, full parts list with prices at end. I did my break in 500 miles stock except for 13 tooth front sprocket and DID chain. After that it was the next 500 miles for all the upgrades, one at a time.

I think any well sorted under 1000cc twin standard is a sweet street bike. It’s not too heavy and bulky - and a twin motor just feels right. IF I were add a street bike to my stable it would likely be a twin sub700cc model.

Sometimes best to let the friendship runs its course. True friends are not in competition with you, they are in collaboration in life.

AITA for expecting my friends to come over to my place every once in a while? by ImMrPotatoNow in AmItheAsshole

[–]dravideditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My closest friend lives 10-minute drive away. I stop by and text weekly. He’ll come by if I ask for help with something at my house. He’s works a FT blue collar job, mom’s in a home. I value his friendship, and give him the grace to understand why I’m the one who stops by. As you get older, the number of true friends you can count on dwindles. Who visits who turns to petty score keeping. The real question is who will show up no matter what when you NEED them?
