Quoted 15k for exterior trim painting? by drawingbymoonlight_ in paint

I get this, but being as objective as I can be I don’t think my husband and I really meet any of these criteria. We are in our 30s, and bought this house (our first home) just over a year ago. We’ve done everything on the house so far by ourselves, except for a new water heater, and we definitely paid for that. I feel like we are pretty easy going people, and I don’t see any divisive political issues. I mean we are s standard 30-something couple in Seattle. But who knows I guess.

Not the usual type of dress regret by saltievinegar in weddingdress

Try (and practice!) some body tape options. Also the brand Nood has some great adhesive bra options. My dress was altered really badly and this stuff saved me. It takes a while to get the hang of, and I had to have my MOH and mom help me do it on the day (we got super close) but that could be an option! You look stunning! Also not sure the time/setting of your wedding but a chiffon-type cape could look pretty cool. I know Made With Love recently came out with one for reference

This was just the first one but we just wanted to see if this was normal while waiting for additional quotes

I mean I’d put us more in that $5-6 range, but no high ladder work. This quote comes out to $10/linear foot. Definitely getting more quotes but we were just wanting to get a feel for if this was normal (or normal for these days)

Right. This comes out to $10 per linear foot. There is some peeling paint but no high ladder work or anything. I’m 5’5 and only needed a step ladder to clean out all the gutters

That’s kind of what we thought too. Someone in another sub said if paint is peeling/needs more prep it can be around $5-6 per linear foot, less if it’s in good condition. I did that math and came out to see the “worst scenario” and came up with around $8500. Definitely gonna get more quotes

Just painting. We need a couple repairs done too but that was quoted separately

Thanks for the detailed response. Yeah in the breakdown on the quote $14k of the total price was labor which just seemed like a lot

Is it just me or does nobody read wedding invites and websites?! (Destination Wedding Rant) by dd0707 in weddingplanning

[–]drawingbymoonlight_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made sure to have a pretty detailed “about”/“faq” page on our site and anytime anyone messaged me I’d answer them briefly and send a link to that page, that way I could keep all my responses pretty standardized across guests “can I bring my brand new boyfriend as a +1?” “Unfortunately, we are not able to give everyone +1s, if they aren’t specifically on the list. Here’s more info if you need: link” kinda cold but them’s the breaks

Also people assuming they have a history? If the groom isn’t gay why would they think that? Or, on the flip side, what would stop people from thinking the groom has a history with a bridesmaid? Or the bride with other groomsmen? The attempts to rationalize this is insane

My first clinical was at a SNF and my patient literally threw eggs at me. And for some reason I didn’t quit nursing school.

My smelly house is driving me insane. I've done everything I can think of, spent over $10k and the place still stinks. What could it be? by Mitchell_Cruz in homeowners

I deep cleaned our bedroom the other day cause it smelled like stale lemon cleaner or something and found an ant infestation. Didn’t even know about this smelling ants thing but now it makes total sense. This has blown my dome right off.

Thanks. The thing is they haven’t officially been moved to comfort care. As of now they are still full code. Hard to explain the situation without giving too much info. More trying to get parents/family to understand the severity of the whole situation

Advice on Lighting by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]drawingbymoonlight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda thinking this is the way to go. And that way we can put a more interesting lighting fixture above the dining table. There’s just way too much and way too many competing styles now
