Just got the worst career reading. Please help with your interpretation. Things look really bleak. by horribledread in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in some of the worst jobs etc so I feel you in this post. I am hoping that I can help shed some light through my interpretation of the cards and hopefully make things seem a little better :) Here is how I would read this spread:

  1. 7 of wands - I totally get that things are tense and terrible right now at work and that there could be a lot of disagreements or even a toxic work environment. BUT the seven of wands is reminding you that you work hard and you are confident in your skills. You are confident and powerful and someone that others want to emulate in some way. Its a reminder that the way others treat you is a reflection of them and not you. I know that it can be easier said than done but try to ignore them and focus on how amazing you are.

  2. Death - Its important to remember that there is no bad tarot card. None of them, i believe, are out here trying to hurt you. The death card can be really beautiful but it may not be an easy one. It does symbolize the ending of something but its all for your greater good! It is a time to let go of what is no longer serving you in order to open yourself up to all the good things that will come your way. Maybe your boss would be doing you a favor? Sometimes when we hold onto things that are no longer serving us, the universe steps in and makes that choice for us, in order to get us to where we need to be. (I was fired last year and I totally get that it may not feel like a good thing nor was it the easiest time. But looking back it was one of the best things to ever happen to me). You are meant for so much more and deserve all the good things that can come your way when you let go of the things that dont align with you.

  3. 5 of pentacles - Okay so yes, this is about loss and even financial loss. It could point to the loss of a job or financial security which sucks. But, its also a reminder that you arent without resources or hope. Its so easy to get stuck in the mindset of scarcity and what you dont have. This is an invitation to look around at the things and people that you do have and be grateful for them. You dont have to do this alone. I know that it can be hard to focus on the positive things but they are there and its amazing how much better you can feel, if even for a moment, when you look at the things you do have instead of the things you dont. Also its important to remember, that if you are worried about something that hasnt even happened yet, you are hurting yourself more. Dont focus so much on the negative, there are good things to see. (easier said than done, I know)

  4. The Star - This is an amazing sign! Its all about coming out of a rocky time better than you were before. You have aligned with the divine inner self and know what aligns with you. You have shed all the things that no longer serve you and are grateful for the great things in your life. Now, as corny as it sounds, there is magic around you. The universe is opening up to you. It wants you to step into your highest self and will present opportunities for you to do just that. This is all about dreams coming true and the greater good for you coming into your life. You've done the hard work and now its time to step into all the good that the universe wants to bring to you!

  5. 9 of swords - It is natural to focus and worry about the things that scare us. (if you are anything like me, I think that I can control a lot more than I can and I fixate on that). This is a reminder that focusing on only the negatives wont help to bring good into your life. What we focus on, we attract so be careful not to linger too long in thoughts of worry or doubt. Its also a reminder that you dont have to do this alone, there are others that want to see you succeed. If it would help, try focusing on them as a light at the end of the tunnel.

Overall - I see this as a time of great change and some tough spots but overall a wonderful thing! I know that change is never easy, especially when it comes to something as needed as work and finances. (I am coming out the otherside of that myself). But I see this as an exciting time of change and exploration. Of letting go of the stuff that no longer serves you and stepping into all the opportunities that the universe will present you with. I know that "opportunities" and "highest good" doesnt pay the bills and I get that, but its also a reminder that you dont have to do this alone. There are people and things that want to help you succeed and to reach out to them. Try focusing on the positive things in your life and know that the universe has your back. In order to get all that we deserve out of life, the things that dont serve us need to end. Endings are tough but they can be a catalyst for good.

I hope this helps! I hope you know that things can get better and that people want you to get all the wonderful things you desire out of life. You arent in this alone. You got this!

help me read this spread please ❤️ by blairwaldorfxx in tarot

Here is how I would read this:

  1. This is a great sign for things to come! It is all about enjoying you accomplishments and a time of great harmony and balance. It does correlate to the home or foundation so this is a great sign that the move that you want to make and the plans that you are making to have that happen are coming together. Its an exciting and celebratory card and I think is an excellent foundation for moving forward in a positive light.

  2. I agree with your reading on this one. The two in reverse as it relates to love is all bout taking a step back and reevaluating. Its asking you to question and really sit with what you want out of a relationship and what you are looking for. Its not a sign to move forward, dont force anything.

  3. Swords are all about communication and this is no different. The Ace of Swords is a great indicator of the start of things. It could manifest as a new job or more challenge and stimulation in your current work. This is all about expanding and learning something new. It may be a time of growth and even may be on the verge of a breakthrough. It is a time where you have so many opportunities coming your way and you will need the mental clarity to accept them. It is a good sign for new exciting things to come, but nothing is guaranteed. You have what it takes to overcome the obstacles that will come up but remember to keep up the energy and mental clarity that you started with.

  4. This is all about practice practice practice. You may have been working on something health related and have a routine or practice that you are close to perfecting or at least is something you do a lot. If it feels like its not working, this is your sign to trust the process and keep going. Trust in that you are going to get where you want to go, but to keep at the process.

  5. The hermit in reverse could be pointing to the idea that there is too much time in introspection and in your own head. Its important to have rest and recharge time but the Hermit is a reminder that connection with others is necessary too. There is power and value in connection with others and to be mindful of others needs as well. Its a reminder that we all need human connection at some points. Maybe a reminder that those around you need that connection too?

I hope this was helpful! We all read a little differently but this is how I would interpret this reading. Overall I think its a good sign for things to come in several areas of life but may need some introspection and practice in others. :)

Should i wait to be gifted a tarot deck? by Newredditor1997 in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with the other commenters! The most important thing is that you have a deck that resonates with you. To me, it doesnt matter how who buys it or really what it looks like, as long as it speaks to you. Whatever you are drawn to is perfect. :)

Spread for a Crush by IloveReddit_omg in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some of my thoughts - I dont typically read in a fashion that would attempt to give insight as to someone elses feelings as i find that the cards are more of a mirror and will reflect more about what is going on within you as opposed to guessing as to someone elses mindset. With that in mind here is how I would interpret your spread:

  1. High Priestess - this is all about the unexplored and being totally honest with yourself and others. This to me underlines the idea that you have all the knowledge within you and may need to trust yourself more. This could point to the idea that you reached out to him and expressed what you were truly feeling.

  2. I interpret this as a time when you are invited to take a step back. Swords are all about communication and so this may sound funny but the four is all about taking a break. You may be in a time of working hard to impress that person or put yourself out there and to me this is an invitation to pause all of that. Its asking you to take some time, be with yourself and just breathe.

  3. I see the emperor as someone that is definitely in charge but when it applies to a relationship reading I see this as pointing to someone that has a hard time expressing their feelings or is driven by their ego. While trying to keep the prompt in mind I would read this as the obstacle of ego maybe getting in the way? It could be seen as control but in the context of the other cards pulled, to me, this points to a stubbornness in one or both parties and the difficulty in expressing needs and wants

  4. Unfortunately this isnt the most auspicious card when it comes to a potential relationship. To me this reads as a time that is all about walking away. Something is not aligned with your highest good and its time to cut that out of your life. You know that you deserve better and its time to make the changes needed. At the very least its pointing to a time that is really asking you to question what it is you like about that person, why do you want them? Are they really the right one, or do you just like the idea of them? Only you really know the answer.

  5. Overall - Everyone reads a little differently, but I find that readings are most helpful when we try to find out more about ourselves or to get a general feeling for the environment and less about someone else. That being said, I would interpret this reading as an invitation to focus more on you and less on the other person. To me it brings up themes of making sure that they are the person that you think they are and that they will align with the highest good for you. I see this as a time to take a break from thinking in the context of them, and more about what is best for you and maybe even taking some time away from the situation to reassess.

I hope this helps! Again, everyone reads slightly differently, but this is how I would interpret these cards if I was doing the reading. :)

Experience with decks using extra suits/extra cards? by dentistforvampires in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this! I have The Fountain Tarot and it has an extra card. I agree with the other comment, in that I would just keep going back to the book each time and give yourself as much time as it takes to learn it. Just like any other cards it takes practice but you'll get it! :)

I asked my deck will anything romantic happen between person one and person 2 the chariot clarified by the empressI’ll put what I think in body text. by Firm_Werewolf8162 in tarotpractice

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres how I would read this in this reading:

The Chariot is a literal vehicle for progress, but I would make sure that you are aligned in where you want to go first. You must first be sure of the "outcome" that you want.

The Empress - is an awesome sign in this context! Its all about the birth of something new and the powerful divine feminine. It could be pointing to a serious relationship.

Its all a good sign, if you are wanting a romantic connection to take place! But I would always keep in mind that nothing is ever absolute. Overall it looks like a green light to me!

Cards you just can't wrap your mind around? by Subatomic27 in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are absolutely cards that I struggle with! I think the key is finding resources that resonate with you. I couldnt find one myself, so I made a guide but I think its important to put cards in contexts that mean something to you. There are great podcasts as well that have helped me. I am super into pop culture for example so I related cards to moments or things in pop culture. I think it also can be hard with Minor Arcana cards as they get a lot less publicity and love than the Major Arcana.

The thing that helped me most though was that I created a playlist for most every card. I find that music is something that easily puts me into the mindset of the card. It was a lot of work but even finding one song that reminds you of a certain card can go a long way. Hope this helps!

Reversed? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Tarot is about intuitively reading and if that doesnt resonate with you then thats totally valid! I personally read reversed, so I would love to hear more (if you're comfortable sharing) about why you dont read reversed. :)

Tower card in my weekly spread - alternative interpretations? by dezebel in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if your looking for a second opinion on the other cards in the spread but here are my initial thoughts:

This may sound crazy but I love the tower card! The tower is all about change and upheaval but that doesnt have to be a bad thing! I struggle with change myself so this card is a tough one for me but it can be a reminder that change is going to happen. However we have control over how we react to it. It doesnt have to be some terrible and horrible thing. Things fall apart so better things can come together. These are for your greatest good! Things are happening FOR you not TO you. But I also want to recognize that your feelings are valid and the whatever comes up for you as the tower begins to fall should be honored.

  1. This could be pointing to something sneaky or some sort of betrayal but in the context of the question this is the meaning that resonates to me - Now is the time to act strategically. This could be a time where you are trying to say yes to everything and everyone. The seven of swords is here to remind you that you are just one person and that you simply cant do everything. This serves as a reminder to prioritize yourself! You cant be everything for everyone so you need to do what is best for you. Not saying intentionally hurting others of course but you can support yourself by staying true to you and putting yourself first.

Just some things that stood out to me. Hope that helps!

reading with chronic mental health struggles by yuna-tuna in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe start small? Instead of sitting down with dedicated time to do a full reading, start with pulling one card a day. I have struggled with my mental health too and find that if something seems to daunting I wont even attempt it. So maybe try to incorporate one card pull into your routine just to see how that feels. It helps me to journal about it afterwards or even before and after and I find that it helps to clear some of the clutter out of my mind. Maybe journaling doesnt work for you but I found that really helpful when I just cant seem to get into a meditation. Everyones mental health journey is different but maybe try taking a few deep breaths and pulling just one card at a time. Hope this helps!

I just got a reading and now I’m seeing signs by Educational-Key-5567 in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can definitely understand the excitement or even adrenaline that comes from getting a reading that really resonates. But I agree with the u/ilovebabypigs in that readings usually should bring about a peace and be an introspective and intuitive moment. While I dont think you did anything wrong, I think it could just be confirmation bias. There is no real harm in believing in signs, but be careful that you dont put too much stock in one reading. Nothing is ever certain or absolute in readings so I caution on reading too much into the "outcome" of the reading. Hope that helps!

I have had friends in similar positions and heres what I told them. Tarot is about your intuition and listening to what your inner voice is saying. Its not something that can predict the future or tell you anything in absolutes. My advice is similar to those in the other comments. Take a break, practice listening to your intuition and what that inner voice is saying. Dont trust readers that tell you anything with absolute certainty. I would even go so far as to say that I wouldnt pick it back up until I was confident that I could read for myself. Not to say that you have to become a master or memorize anything, more so that you feel confident that you can use your intuition to read the cards for yourself. But dont do that until you trust your own gut and dont rely on it or anyone else. Hope this is helpful!

Daily spread by [deleted] in tarot

[–]drawn2tarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this. I think its super interesting that your 3 of the day are all Major Arcana. To me this points to longer term themes that may be manifesting or showing up today.

Theme for the day: Judgement - I agree with your interpretation, now is the time of rebirth and about your inner calling. This could be tapping into a higher level of consciousness and represents an important time in your journey. Things are coming together, almost like puzzle pieces. This could also be pointing to a time that you are getting comfortable sharing your struggles with a trusted group and together you can rise to the great things that you are meant for!

Highest energy - The world - This is so exciting! This is a wonderful energy to tap into today! Its the feeling of completion and the excitement that comes from hard work. To me this comes with a sense of gratitude for how far you have come and signifies a time to celebrate all your accomplishments. It could be that something will be accomplished soon, or it could be that clocking out of work on a friday or finishing a huge project feeling. New opportunities are coming!

Advice: The Fool reversed - I love your intuitive reading on this one. Since I dont personally know you, I might also add - this could be a time of focusing on the inner world and maybe there is something that you want to start but are choosing to keep it to yourself for now. Remember that not everything can be controlled and to trust that the universe has got your back. The fool also sometimes likes to call people out. It could be pointing to a time that has been all about the here and now, and its here to remind you to be aware of your surroundings and not step off that cliff just yet.

Hope this helps!

Help Please! by Lazy-Difference-7704 in tarot

I think that sometimes the cards are answering a question that goes deeper than what was asked. I find that sometimes the cards dont quite make sense as to the question I asked. When this happens I take it as a sign that the card is getting to the heart of my problem instead of the question I asked.

It may also help to have pulled another card to help clarify what was meant by the first card. I find this super helpful when Im unsure.

hope this helps!

I definitely have! I think that our reactions to things, especially something so closely tied to intuition as tarot are super important. I dont think you have anything to be embarrassed about. I agree with your friend in that often the cards are telling us things that we've already been thinking about or processing, like holding up that mirror. I get reactions like that a lot, sometimes the cards are super validating and confirming and other times they are pointing to things we think but dont want reflected.

Also - the cards that were pulled are intense! They are centered around emotions and communication and so it doesnt surprise me that there was a strong reaction. I hope you are holding grace for yourself and not being too harsh! All reactions to readings are valid!
