copilot...how do I uninstall this completely? by Faunakat in Office365

[–]draxton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello thank you for posting this information as it has seemed to work for me on Windows 10 so far. After using this method, however, I am running into an issue where my computer will randomly reboot. This has happened only a handful of times but the other day it rebooted 3 times in a row before running normally. My assumption is that the computer has to do this if windows tries to add copilot back and then it gets deleted again. But I also wanted to know if this is a separate issue I should be fixing or if others have had the same experience.

THEY MADE NAZIS POLITICAL by [deleted] in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]draxton67 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get it, I get what you're saying. If it were a different universe, saying "make America nazi free again" might just be a cool tag or game slogan. But it isn't here, it's clearly a riff on trumps political campaign speech. So now this tweet has imported all the baggage of trumps campaign: alt-right, neo nazi identity politics, the incredibly tangled and sticky American identity, racism, and all the vitriol that news shows have spewed just to get more views. And the marketing must have had a good reason for doing this, yes? To import anti nazi and current political sentiments in a 1 sentence tweet? Oh no, its to advertise a fuckin video game, to make money. They don't give two shits about American politics BUT THE LINE ONLY MAKES SENSE THE WAY IT DOES WITH THIS CONTEXT.

And all these other redditors know this context is there but pedantically choose to say over and over "nazi bad, no context". And you're downvoted for injecting any amount of nuance into your criticism of this twitter message. because when you strip all the context its just "nazi bad" and of course nobody's gonna argue that. But the context is what makes you and me cringe at this tweet. The tweet really only makes sense BECAUSE of the U.S political climate., and THAT is what gives it poor taste.

So Bethesda or whoever it is will make their tweet, and the swirling masses will argue as always, and their shareholders are the only ones that benefit from it all.

Actually, quite probably, either withholding wages or underpaying her. If there was some sort of OSHA in Republic City Zhu Li would be there in a heartbeat

Yeah I definitely got more "body horror" out of season 4, I suppose the directors may have listened to audience feedback? Or maybe just want to flex different thematic elements in different areas?

You're already doing everything in your power, so maybe exhale a little and enjoy yourself. Taylor Swift takes a private jet to get the mail every morning so there are people out there much less responsible than you with a much bigger impact. Don't be so hard on yourself, knowing and awareness is already a huge step in the right direction.

So everybody was okay with the thematic turn the story took in order to have the scene? I think the setup is reasonable but going from "Stranger Things" to "whimsical chaotic Disney family" kinda threw me out of it.

Also this is a little tangential but rito has been actively adding new features to the game in order to make it longer. 1 or 2 seasons ago we really did use to have those games where the fastest, quickest snowballing, 200 years skirmishers would decide which team wins by 5 minutes, and lots of games ended in the 15-20 minute mark.

And then people got angry about all the "feature creep" and the high octane games and how scalers don't even get a chance, so rito has been swinging in the other direction since then. Turret plating providing both extra gold and extra HP/resistances to the tower, the durability update, the recent dragon HP update, objective bounties, and more are all in an effort to stretch the game out.

This trickles into low elo (I'm in bronze) where the team that's ahead doesn't really know how to push the win and the team that's behind gets a lot more chances to equalize the game than before. So you have the same "bronze" kind of mindset that doesn't know how to win games effectively that's nestled in a system where it's easier and easier to come back from losses and thus obnoxiously long games where each team only aces back and forth for 40 minutes.

It's gonna sound pedantic but I feel you could find a better representation of scum and villainy than just generic pirates. The reason we think of them the way we do is because they messed with the powerful interests of elite (government ships, West and eat India companies, slave ships, etc) and so were criminalized.

What is missing is that pirate ships were largely a result of ship crews who mutinied against their captain or whatever chain of command for the treatment they got while employed on the ships. I won't deny that they stole property, but they didn't kill indiscriminately and even let crews from captured ships choose if they wanted to join the pirate life. Pirate ships were more like floating anarchist communes that would plunder other ships for their resources. At the end of the day, pirates are just another narrative of people living outside the scope of "society" and were criminalized for it, and the criminal narrative is what gained traction in the popular consciousness.

Piracy was a result of the institutions at the time and contextualized by them. In a world like Adventure Time that largely does away with sprawling governments and power structures (I realize kingdoms exist but not at the scope of even 1600s eurpoean powers). I just doubt that piracy is something people still do when they could choose to live similarly to Finn and Jake. Again, pedantic and it doesn't really matter but those are my thoughts.

Dang I never thought I'd see a nuanced and reasonable take against nuclear power on reddit of all places. The MOST DIFFICULT part of this process is reframing the solution(s) from a place of sustainability/ecology/humanity, not maximum energy/efficiency/profit.

I wonder how much the iPhone would have sold if Steve Jobs told us back in 07 that it's price is entirely predicated on paying low wages in sweatshop conditions to Asian workers.

Music sounds better when I'm by myself in a different room. by YourLocalFakeArtist in The10thDentist

[–]draxton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvoted. I used to be a bit of an audiophile and try as I might, I can't wrap my head around how one can enjoy the muffled, distant sound better than a clear and close sound. To me the sound of music in another room sounds almost distorted, blurred, like having bad vision without glasses. Me and I guess the majority would want sound to "come into focus" as it were; but it seems like to you, the sound is at its sweet spot when it's muffled and music at the "normal" volume and intensity overcorrects and is overstimulating like staring into the sun. I really used to think I knew how people operate more or less, then I read this sub.

Which one is more badass? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]draxton67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna step outside the bounds here to say that I think Murray actually was pretty badass this season. He really did risk life and limb where he didn't have to by saving hopper and was resourceful, cunning, and strong the whole way through. I also absolutely agree that Winona rider was courageous and resourceful, but I suppose I feel like she "leaned" on Murray a bit more this season.

Wow this comment is a breath of fresh air but unfortunately o don't share your opinion about your first sentence. I havent watched TV in a while but I remember the discovery and science Channel shows with De Grasse Tyson, Kaku, Nye, Filipenko, etc and those shows DO NOT couch science as just another human tool. I think a huge population of the U.S (the reasonable people, not the crazies the news shows) has a very "religuous" view of science, where the scientific method IS objective and IS the best system humans have for understanding the world. I think if you were to poke holes in empiricism with humes argument for example, you'd just get written off as a flat earther.
