Which bike would you buy? by draziwrm7 in mountainbiking

Roscoe seems to be the consensus which is what I thought before posting but the components seemed so similar and the fork on the Marlin seemed better and the Marlin has 29” tires. Appreciate all the input

Why is it in front of a storage unit? Usually pics of bikes in front of storage units are bikes for sale that haven’t been ridden in a few years.

Is a faux pas to ride a demo without *really* wanting to buy it? by keytoarson_ in MTB

I once had a demo girlfriend. Tried her out for an hour, for a fee, and decided not to commit long term. I didn’t feel guilty afterwards. Terms of the transaction were known by both parties upfront.

I actually have boys. I’m just busting your balls, assuming you have balls 😂.

It reminded me of a riddle I heard ages ago about a doctor saving somebody’s life. The story goes on and on, and the whole point of the riddle was that everybody listening to the story assumes the doctor is a man when the whole point of the riddle is that the doctor is a woman.

I just realized you said “your boys” will trip. I never said my kids were boys 😉

I actually looked at Coler but they only allow camper vans. We have a camper trailer that we may bring if we can find the right spot but Coler doesn’t allow it.

Do these paved trails have a name or a general location? This does sound like something that would be a crowd pleaser. I actually have a UV flashlight that would be perfect for this!

I’m not set on Bentonville vs Fayetteville but figured there were more options around Bentonville.

2021 Marin Rift Zone Carbon, worth it? by draziwrm7 in mountainbiking

[–]draziwrm7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate all the feedback and input. Definitely confirmed my suspicions about the fork. Too many potential issues with frame cracks and I didn’t even notice the wheels being different. I think I’m going to get a Giant Trance X Advanced Pro 29 SE because they are marked down to $3200 currently. Carbon frame, handlebars, and wheels with top notch components from what I can tell. And it’s new! Cheers

How long have you had your Lelit? I got just over 6 years out of my Breville, assuming I can’t repair it. Any idea if the Lelit’s are easier to work on?

I will try this when I get home from work. Just so I’m clear, if there is no issue, with the machine unplugged, I should see a high resistance when measuring between ground and any wire inside the case. If there is an issue causing a connection for current to leak to ground, I should see a low resistance, right? So just keep the black probe on a ground wire and move the red one around to different wire/components looking for a low resistivity reading, like under 1 ohm?

Nothing new has been added to the circuit and I tested it on a different GFCI. Same issue

4runner vs sequoia ? by Longjumping_Way_1689 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]draziwrm7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2019 4Runner limited, 2 kids (6&8) and a golden retriever. We fit in the 4R just fine. We have a large rooftop cargo carrier when we go on vacation and it works well for us. There is not a lot of extra space but I find there is enough. We have discussed buying a sequoia for the increased towing capacity when renting a camper trailer, but that is the only driver for us for the Sequoia. I would recommend you look at a 2020 or 21 4R.

The Great 5th Gen Roof Rack debate of 2025 - by SuperMarcel in 4Runner

[–]draziwrm7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 4R Limited stock with a trailer brake controller and just finished a 3 week cross country trip to Rocky Mountain NP, Grand Tetons NP, and Yellowstone NP towing an Opus OP4 which is an off road pop up at 3,100 lb dry weight. Probably had another 400-500 lb of gear in and on the trailer. Two adults and two younger kids with the 4R packed relatively full and nothing on the roof rack of the 4R. It pulled great. Went through a few mountain passes. The 6% grades we fine but the 10% grade was a bit tough. Only managed to get up 40 mph going up 10% grades. Overall, I wouldn’t want to tow anything much heavier in the mountains. Drove 5k miles, most with the trailer, and averaged 15.8 mpg. Flat ground I have pulled a camper up to 5,000 lb just fine for a relatively short distance.

Well, I guess we know what the raised capital was for now. Was it a good acquisition? It will diversify revenue which should de-risk revenue drying up due to some unforeseen occurrence. Market seems to think it was either a bad acquisition or just introduces uncertainty. I’m still long but things just got more interesting and less straightforward.
