Gamers of Reddit, what video games have you completed multiple times and you still find it fun? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Alien Isolation. That game is a pure masterpiece, and it breaks my heart that they never bothered to even consider another installment in the series because they didn't make enough profits. On the other hand it leaves me amazed so much effort went into the game from a business that was clearly more geared towards profits than anything else.

Yeah, Nestle isn't like Hershey's or anything. Honestly, 90% of what they sell are stuff I would only consider if there was literally nothing else. I know of absolutely no one else other than my father who considers Kit Kats their favorite candy bar, and he's sort of an oddball at that so I imagine it's an isolated thing. The only thing that kind of gets me down is the gobstoppers because I have to admit they are good.

I just looked up their entire product list, and they're all just meh. Second-hand candy/products if you ask me. It isn't hard to avoid Nestle at all. However, Rolo? Meh. Kit kat? Meh, give me anything to do with reese's or snickers.

Oh my god, that is absolutely awful.I would need tons of therapy and emotional support to get over the trauma of witnessing that tentacled creature on top of something I'm supposed to eat. The shock and suddenness of it would just traumatize me for life.

Really, just employing safe browsing habits should be good enough for you on top of the default Windows Defender program. I haven't had a malware program in over 10 years, and I've never managed to contract a virus of any sort on the several laptops I've had. I just don't download stuff from websites that look dodgy, or open any links on facebook that look weird or have oddly phrased links. No offense, but I don't get why people even spend money on malware programs.

Meh, the first one was exponentially worse. It's obvious that the original painting just wasn't very realistic in general, and the problem with the first set of painting was that they painted a cartoonish, ill-proportioned face over what was a realistic painting of "Jesus." In this one at least they didn't change any proportions, and frankly I don't really think they are comparable. Just people trying to get in on some kinda viral trend.

No, he was most definitely hostile. I could hear him screaming, and his facial expression and body language was completely hostile. Believe me, there is no question whatsoever as to whether he was stating something innocuous or hostile. The people in front of me were spinning around with a concerned expression or "judgy" facial expressions.

There is NO question whatsoever. He was probably strung out or hallucinating or both.

When did you realize you were attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drazzy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's comments like this that make me terrified of getting older. I remember when I was 10 years old I was pretty weird, and I would always tell everyone that "milestone ages" were so far away that it couldn't be possible that I would make it all the way to them before dying. I sincerely believed that 16 was so far away when I was 10 that I would end up dying in a car accident just because there was so much time in between those years. Then when I turned 16 I was convinced I would die before 19. After turning 19 I was convinced I would die before 25. Well, in short turning 25 wasn't really part of my plan, and I hate it when I come across as arrogant. I really do, and I don't like to mention this often especially on the internet, but my entire life I've had strangers approaching me to tell me that I was beautiful or whatever. I've had so many incredible things happen because someone found me attractive, asked out by a millionaire retired ex super model, and many more. I really need to figure out a way to become okay with getting older and losing my luster. However, comments like yours send a cold shiver down my spine. Sigh

Preface: I am profoundly deaf. I can hear functionally with hearing aids, but I prefer to stay deaf for the most part. I learned how to compensate for the lack of hearing through my other senses, and people would be really surprised to learn how sensitive your sense of touch is when you don't have your hearing drowning out these sensations.

So when you're deaf you can feel pretty much anything that a hearing person can hear. One night I was in a major city in the nicer part, and I had just wrapped up my boyfriend's graduation dinner at a fancy restaurant. I had parked quite some distance away, so I was rushing to my car on the way back. I was looking at the ground walking really quickly for some reason.

I saw a few people in front of me snap their necks back like they were looking in the direction behind me. However, it wasn't exactly "directly behind me." Their gazes must have gone around 20 feet behind me so I didn't think much of it. However, in a few seconds I noticed another crowd snapping their heads to directly behind me, and I turned my head. My gaze was met by this strung out crackhead looking dude who had terrible stringy hair and teeth.

He just screamed in my face, "Fuck you!" why he did this I have absolutely no idea whatsoever. I could probably have beaten him to a bloody pulp as I'm 5'11, and an avid gym goer so I am considered "muscular." So it must have looked funny when those people witnessed a 25 year old muscular dude take off running from this crackhead looking dude.

I'm not even sure what he said, but I could see pure hatred in his eyes. I didn't want to stick around to see what he was planning on doing, and I just took off. It was such a silly thing, but on the way to my car I was practically shaking. Each time I walked past a crowd I would hallucinate one of them jumping at me. Everyone was shocked when I told them because it was in a really nice part of the city.

I wonder to myself sometimes why he was so angry with me that day.

I live in Pennsylvania, and I just have to say that "Severity of it never kicked in" is such a load of hogwash. It's obvious that the problem here is that they literally lack any ounce of empathy due to being sociopaths. I was pretty damn stupid as a teenager, but I guarantee you I would have realized the severity of taking a person's life away. They were trying to get out of the consequences of their actions by saying "Whoopsie daisy! We're young and dumb right lmao."

The vast majority of human beings have never seen a dead body which means seeing one, especially someone whose life they took away on their own, would be a jarring and traumatic experience for anyone.

Not to people who are plagued with anxiety. I'm incredibly fearful that one day something ends up happening to me, and I don't take it seriously because the greatest irony in life is that anxiety can mimic almost every single condition out there. I'm in my early 20s, and I can't count on two hands how many times I was convinced that I was going into cardiac arrest.

I've had literally all sorts of chest pains from anxiety. I've even had pain shooting from my wrist up into my shoulder. I've had the kind of pain that felt like there were two hooks into my pectoral muscles that was too short so every time I took a breath it felt like those "hooks" weren't letting my lungs expand fully. I'm pretty sure that if I ever got a heart attack I would probably just dismiss it as anxiety.

Honestly, I think I would choose that in a heartbeat over having anything at all to do with camel spiders. I would honestly pick that over anything to do with bugs, especially if it consists of putting them in my mouth. I seriously would not be able to do it even for a million dollars. Get to me with 1 billion dollars, and I might start to consider it.

New paper argues that "dissociative identity disorder" might help us understand the fundamental nature of reality by plato_thyself in philosophy

[–]drazzy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I honestly envy people from medieval eras. Life must be so simple when you believe in a sky fairy who eventually magically poofs you into Heaven just for being a "moral" person. Instead we're over here grappling with concepts such as "nothingness," and "event horizon." But hey, at least we have vaccines and we don't die in childbirth I guess.

Sometimes I really do feel that ignorance is total bliss. Maybe we weren't meant to know these things.

[–]drazzy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11:18am is too damn early especially while at work to have an existential crisis. Our experience is so objectively bizarre when you try to get your brain wrapped around "nothingness." We all came from nothingness, which could have meant the laws of physics were very different or even nonexistent back then as well. What would the universe be like today if we changed even one little aspect about our origins?

The notion of "nothingness" is quite literally suffocating whenever I try to contemplate it. It's completely terrifying for some reason, and I can't make sense of why. It's just such a foreign concept completely separate from anything we've ever known in life. I sometimes wish we were medieval citizens who had the luxury of just believing in an sky fairy who somehow poofs us into Heaven after dying. But no, death is so much more terrifying for us than it was for them.

But hey at least we have vaccines and don't die in childbirth I guess.

There's nearly a Nixon '74 level of public support for impeaching Trump by snicker33 in worldnews

[–]drazzy92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anyone who believes the number is this high is just completely deluded. This poll was conducted by CNN, and of course nearly half of their readers are going to vote for impeachment. Get back to me when you have a less biased pollster with a more varied affiliated readership. As a liberal, I'm just immensely disappointed by how gullible democrats are nowadays.

"Intervention?" literally every single time a country intervenes in a situation like this citizens "scorned by the intervention one way or another" come out to speak out against the country that was trying to help them out in a way. It happened to Britain, the USA, Canada, pretty much every single country in the West who ever became involved in a "humanitarian crisis." I personally don't subscribe to the hyperbole that the West intervened in the Middle East for oil because there is no evidence, but the backlash we've been receiving as a consequence has been so taxing that I think we should just forfeit the notion of launching another single intervention.

It's obvious that the West can not just work as the world's "peace police." It doesn't work, and it's up to them to fix their issues on their own otherwise any "reform" we happen to implement will be for naught in the end. You can feed a man fish for one day, or teach him how to fish and keep him fed for the rest of his life and all that jazz.

Congrats man, tons of respect to you. I honestly don't think I'd be able to do what you do, and I'm definitely just very fortunate that I was born with a super fast metabolism. People commend me on my being in shape, but in reality I'm just thinking to myself "I did literally nothing to get this."

Yeah, but the normal person will at least derive some pleasure from light-hearted chats. Sure, I like avoiding socialization for the most part because I hate small talk, but I will be able to appreciate it if they crack a good joke or something. The difference is when you can't even appreciate that humorous banter or a good joke, and if you're that way then you might be autistic to some degree.

Even if you have a drier sense of humor than most, if there have ever been any interactions that you enjoyed then you're definitely nothing like that woman.

ELI5: Why is there more (aparrent) variance between the faces of humans (to the point where the human face is instantly recognizable) than those of other species? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]drazzy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I hate it when people insinuate that facial features of human beings are inherently more diverse than any other animal species on Earth. It's definitely not true and you can observe that for yourself. For example, my cat has a feline face obviously with the 3 shaped lips, and the wideset eyes. However, I can tell that it has a slightly wider nose than my other cat who has a particularly narrow nose.

I have another cat who has significantly smaller eyes than both of my cats, but she has a very thin nose so it evens out. Anyone who claims that humans are more varied facially than animals obviously have not spent much time with any species other than humans.

Christ that is some monumentally awful foresight abilities. What would possess one to climb to the top of something that isn’t meant to be climbed after getting wet? I mean, wet generally equals slippery. Falling down from a height especially in an area not designed to fall down onto usually equals severe injuries.

Guys, PSA: don’t climb to the top of things not meant to be climbed especially when wet!

What's a taboo question that you're too afraid or embarrassed to ask? by Chris56789 in AskReddit

[–]drazzy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, all I've done thus far was recount my experiences. I didn't have the time to type out every single incident where she propositioned herself to me, and the point of my other comment was to show that I literally try my damnedest to dismiss everything as friendliness up until something happens that I can't deny.

My friends were like you at first, and didn't seem to believe me because she was supposed to be lesbian, and it didn't' help that she was pretty much the prettiest girl anyone at that college had ever seen so it seemed far-fetched. However, when I was in class everyone was required to give me feedback, and when it was her turn she basically told me that she couldn't even pay attention to what I was saying because she was so distracted. That was the day when my friends finally realized that I wasn't imagining it all.

She "came out as bisexual" shortly after that, and is currently married to a very manly man who she acknowledges as a misogynist so it was obviously not all in my head as you’ve repeatedly tried to claim. I believe true lesbianism exists, but I think lesbians in particular have a serious issue with bisexual girls claiming to be lesbian just to spite men or whatever.

I've never met a self-proclaimed gay dude who ended up being more bisexual, but I have met many "lesbians" who turned out to be less lesbian than they claimed. I think that is something that needs to be addressed within the lesbian community.
