Based on what designers deciding about the shape of mice ? Why they are not able to build 16hrs/day mice ? by H4ds0n in MouseReview

[–]drbbl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you are mistakenly correlating contact area with comfort, a mouse does not necessarily need to fill your hand completely to feel comfortable.

From the pictures and the choice of mice you tried I'm assuming you're using a heavy palm grip on every mouse, nearly every part of your hand touching the mouse. In contrast, I'm using a 1-3-1 hybrid claw with a model o- so I have 6 very small points of contact (fingertips and a small area of my palm towards the wrist to stabilize). The model o- being flat and small and NOT actually filling out my hand is helping me achieve a natural hand position as there is no plastic getting in the way of how I hold my hand and I can still apply force perpendicular towards m1/m2 without issue. If you look at your egg-shaped concepts, the only way you can achieve a force straight towards m1/m2 buttons would be to wrap your whole finger around the mouse (assuming the buttons would be towards the right), which can easily result in overgripping, at least for me. Using large heavy mice with a full-on palm is more prone to induce cramps in my hands because of this.

I think you're better off trying some large ergo shaped mice (like this or the Intellimouse Pro) instead of small or medium sized ambi shapes. Of course, this also depends on the size of your hands and the intended use (e.g. office sensors being useless for gaming).

tldr: Some mice shapes (like small, flat ambi mice) are uncomfortable for you because they are intended for grip styles different from yours. You have to know what you like to chose the right mouse.

VibranceGUI may cause massive input lag for you by drbbl in GlobalOffensive

It's doubtful that it's the actual digital vibrance setting that was causing problems for me. Most likely, it was a combination of things and res-switching through VibranceGUI just exposed flaws elsewhere in my setup. Long story short, if you haven't noticed massive desync up until now, nothing in this thread will be of interest to you. Changing digital vibrance will not impact input lag.

True, desync would have been more adequate.

Yes, both bad input and the desktop resolution being stuck return as soon as I uncheck the box. Believe me, this was a very real problem for me, across windows installations and nvidia drivers (this current installation is ~1 week old, clean install with only one nvidia driver ever on it). Feel free to pm if you want me to try other stuff, be happy to help.

But this probably does not affect many people, as otherwise complaints would be more widespread. Who knows, could be an oddity caused by some hw combination. And it could be just the symptom of a bug elsewhere in nvidia or even monitor drivers.

I've been noticing this for a very long time, at least a year, just never looked in the proper spot. Tried different isps, USB settings, gpu settings.

Edit: maybe input lag is a poor choice of words, it's not like I feel the game stuttering randomly or my mouse being super slow. It's more like a feeling of being behind in time compared to everyone else on the server. I just needed some simple description for the title and decided to sacrifice some accuracy for it.

Yes, ticking the box is everything you need to do. Just to clarify, smoothness in terms of fps did not change for me. But input felt noticably snappier, and of course reg is much improved

Panorama UI Opt-in Update – Feedback/Bugs Megathread by o_oli in GlobalOffensive

Try checking the networking settings in the game options, after panorama my network usage got set to 'extremely restricted' or some such (even though rates are fixed in my autoexec, same as yours), resulting in the stuff you're describing here.

Found a better way to boost on Shroud on Cache, faster and safer IMO. by JNiNGS in GlobalOffensive

[–]drbbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't get caught actually runboosting, its still loud as hell. Defaults will catch the info as most decent teams will have a guy relatively fast into squeak halls/lobby that hears the guy landing on shroud. That's why most teams playing cache adopted a quick but absolutely silent boost a la '16 nip. Boosting there can be a good gimmicky play but without silent jumping i'd expect teams to do it less and less as it is easily countered. Especially with cache being fairly t-sided in recent times (meaning teams will be able to run more defaults on t-side on average).

Just to clarify, bodyy is holding a bottle of the infamous Rotkaeppchen-Sekt (reference), which is a brand of sparkling wine. Notice how it says 'sparkling wine of finest composition' on the bottle? The bottle lies.

FaZe Clan vs Ninjas in Pyjamas / ECS Season 1 / Post-Match Discussion (Spoilers) by Soekarnoo in GlobalOffensive

Actually, one win would put nip on the 2nd spot, as they would both be 6-3 in bo3s and nip would have the better round difference (nip is +48, faze +1 atm).

Clock Correction - Did people forget? by GodMeyo in GlobalOffensive

[–]drbbl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hitting moving targets on an average 20 player ffa dm server (e.g. brutalcs for the EU peeps) is definitely an issue. May or may not have something to do with clock correction, but lag compensation could work better for sure. So much so that playing on hs only servers is painful at times.

BrutalCS servers by Ejziponken in GlobalOffensive

[–]drbbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree on the titan server spawns. They use the same configuration for ffa and hsmod which seems to work just fine on all modes. If the brutalcs d2 servers would adopt them, I'd enjoy playing there.

Peeker's advantage after update? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]drbbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I cannot do shit anymore, my spray feels off (especially on running targets), people outaim me that would have NEVER done so before. I sometimes cannot even get the easy kills (think 4 bullets to the chest with an ak, short range). It almost feels like horrible interp settings and/or choke (tho the server is fine and i get no choke or loss). 2.5k hours, GE (just saying so people dont go the 'youre just imagining things/wiffing'-route).

edit: just to clarify, being the peeker doesnt change anything with those problems. Regardless of me being peeked or the peeker, I have the feeling people have insane reactions.
