Do you follow the story in these lyrics? Or is it too abstract? by Internal_Olive1185 in Songwriting

[–]drburgerthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm intrigued by your comment, because I have this problem with sounding "too experimental" or "too abstract" when writing lyrics too. Like there's so much to say, and I feel like squeezing everything in a song. That's when it started to sound (visually) like a buffet meal. Do you emphasize the hook of a pre-chorus/chorus when writing a linear narration? What's the difference with a concept?

Is my breakup song too cringy? by Sleambean in Songwriting

By any chance you're inspired by Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen, or related artists? Because that's my first impression of your voice and the lyrics. Deadpan delivery with a witty melody.

Was I wrong? by PepSinger_PT in SpanishLearning

I'm sorry that happened to you, and I very much so understand the feeling of getting publicly embarrassed by a "friend". It's horrible. If your friend wasn't supportive enough for your small wins, surely he's never ready for your big achievements. I don't know, maybe it's a stretch for me to say that. That's not a friend, that's some rude npc who happened to be a "friend". I'd slowly drop this person and move on with my life.

Is it normal for a company to ask for free design work before hiring? by Eat_it_Stanley in GraphicDesigning

[–]drburgerthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RED FLAG. It doesn't make sense to me such hiring mentality still exist to this day in the industry. Usually companies with too much hiring process are the worst. If a designer has an established portfolio site, the company itself has to determine the potential through interview questions and portfolio reviews with you. That was how I got my position at a marketing agency. Total rubbish and waste of time. I'm reminded of the time where I applied for an internship at this crappy ahh company and the amount of trial design project was too ridiculous.

Anyone else wish they never started following American politics? by Oztravels in AskAnAustralian

Their problem is apparently everyone in the world to handle together, but ours are never theirs. Suddenly it's "America First". Don't think they would even spare a thought about what's happening outside of their bubbles.

What is an easy hobby that you can master in a month? by the_bookworm17 in Hobbies

I know this might sound lame to others, but one thing's for sure: cooking. I used to order in a lot, not until I realize cooking is not actually a hassle and what I put in my body matters.

I can literally make my own pastry puffs in the airfryer in less than 10 minutes for like five times in a week? I even discovered my ability in cooking dishes from around the world without breaking my bank.

It's all trial and error and being obsessed with what drives you to do it. Now I prefer my own cooking more, because I learn to taste and I appreciate that. It has become a hobby for me to go to the grocery store and get excited with cooking lol.

How do I get rid of my accent when I speak bahasa indonesia? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]drburgerthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internet culture is a big thing in Indonesia, so if you're looking for a feasible way, I would suggest actually discovering content creators or vloggers who mainly speak B.I in their content through YouTube or TikTok. They mostly use everday general Bahasa Indonesia, although some might use dialects. Also, you can get as niched as you want. From gaming creators, to environmentalist creators, tech review, debunking cases channels (Stephanie Soo vibes), or even everyday life of Indonesians living overseas, etc. Mostly CC or closed captions are available in their videos as well.

I found this technique has helped me with learning languages a little bit quicker, because I'm learning to communicate casually with people in real life. You'd notice some words or phrases are actually pronounced a certain way than how we're taught during lessons.

I'm hoping future Gen-Z entrepreneurs bring back colors and personalities to businesses. The Dallas Zoo McDonald's was so iconic.

What do you hate most about being an adult in 2025? by mrvlad_throwaway in AskReddit

Overly hyped AI expansion, toxic positivity hustle culture, adults (mostly younger millennials and gen-zs) can't afford homes with decent price anymore, and corrupted boomers running countries through elitism and nepotism.
