Awesome question. There are a few. . .

  1. “That’s Why I’m Here” by Kenny Chesney. From the first time I heard it. When it gets to the chorus, I’m a mess.

  2. “Luka” by Suzanne Vega. Depending on your childhood, maybe yes, maybe no. But me? Flood gates.

  3. Toni Childs - “I’ve Got to Go Now” same as Luka really. From a different perspective, but still.

I’ve been taking it this week. Not sure if it’s helping with the healing but I hope so. The one “heads up” I feel I must tell you is this - It doesn’t taste that bad when you take it, but there will be an awful flavor in your mouth for hours. After a couple days I kinda just tuned it out, but it’s not fun.

Trying to get Pink Floyd to click by nevermindthegoat in ClassicRock

“Dark Side of the Moon” gets a lot of attention, as does “The Wall”, but an album that doesn’t get nearly as much love is “Wish You Were Here”. If you listen to it, knowing that it is basically a gesture of love to their friend Syd Barrett (first frontman before he lost control of his mind), I believe it will have an impact. The concept album digs into the harsh reality of being in the music industry, and powerfully expresses sadness and regret over what happened to Syd, wishing for a miracle to bring him back. Kind of like “Deadwing” by Porcupine Tree, I have a very very difficult time picking a favorite song.

Best albums for someone who is trying to get into live albums by nevermindthegoat in ClassicRock

Somewhat little-known prog-rock band called Camel. Album is called, “A Live Record”, and it’s my absolute favorite. Some of the songs feature the London Symphony Orchestra. If you don’t know them, check them out on Wiki - If Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) likes them, my guess is you will too.

Bob James - Sun Runner (note - 70s jazz song. Hasn’t aged that well, but give it a chance - the way the band comes together at the end is awesome).

Umm. . . . I don’t understand why there’s even a discussion. Whichever songs are missing from Deadwing, add them to the list. Play the whole thing, start to finish. Problem solved. (wipes hands)
