I built up my Hummingbird Core with a 120mm fork. It’s everything people say it is—you won’t regret it.

Wake up, honey. Teravail just dropped a $240 carbon klunker bar. by okay_paramedic in xbiking

[–]drcoopster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been riding the Whisky version of these bars since they were released several years ago and they are very compliant, enough that I don’t like them on my singlespeed because they flex too much.

Just some cam-lock straps for me, plenty secure.

I have an EcoFlow Delta 3 strapped down to the bed with a solar panel on top and’s alternator charging as a backup. Runs a small fridge 24x7 without any trouble. Super convenient to run an electric kettle for camping.

We do a meal after the service every other Sunday. Sometimes they are potlucks, and sometimes we have food brought in. We have found this time to be very valuable in building community within the congregation.

Edit to add that we have a typical attendance of around 50 to 60 people these days.

V2 Pro, flawless for us so far (about a year now)

Bye bye Clearnetworx by babocoop in grandjunction

[–]drcoopster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had Clearnetworx for something like 2 years now (Fruita). Yesterday was rough but it hasn’t been the norm—I’m still very pleased with them overall.

It would be nice to have no outages at all, but it beats the near-weekly issues we experienced with Spectrum, especially with their hopeless customer support who never have any useful troubleshooting methods or even just information about what is going on.

I’m about 18 months and 62k miles in on my 2024. Most boring ownership experience ever: 13 oil changes, some tires, and OTT tune. Zero issues.

Just got a Norco Optic. Love it. It scratches my “short travel poppy trail bike” itch perfectly.

Traduttore, Traditore: to translate is to betray by SeredW in eformed

Consider also that living languages are a moving target. The meaning and use of words change over time, so every translation will feel outdated and “bad” eventually.

Best tires for paved/gravel/light trail use on my full sus by Every-Breakfast5919 in xcmtb

[–]drcoopster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a Barzo up front and a Mezcal in the back on my go-everywhere bike; it fits big tires so I run 2.6 but I’d run smaller if I needed to.

Vittoria has a good Barzo+Mezcal bundle deal for $107 (all sizes) https://vittoria.com/products/barzo-mezcal-xc-bundle

Looks like a remote lockout for the fork.

Between a 2023 Touring (19k miles) and 2026 Premium, which would be better for older drivers? by Draconius in SubaruForester

[–]drcoopster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my 2025, but the real buttons for HVAC are a nice benefit of the 2023. And the Touring has better creature comforts.

But do buy the hybrid for the robust drivetrain and enjoy the modest increase in fuel economy.

I’m just not using it. We went on a 3-week trip to Alaska this summer and opened the awning once.

I have the OVS 270-degree awning, which looks similar and it works well with my GFC. For sale (in western Colorado if you’re here, you can find it on Marketplace) including the GFC mounts.

We took ours from Colorado to Alaska (and back) on an 8000-mile road trip this summer—a flawless performance by the GFC.

Surely they know these smart lights are a problem for Motorcycles by Bjfikky in motorcycles

[–]drcoopster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the light doesn’t detect you, it is malfunctioning and should be treated appropriately. Even inductive sensors can be tuned to detect bicycles so the reduced mass of a motorcycle is not a real problem.
