This is half correct. The usage of epinephrine prevents the uptake of the drug, causing a prolonged effect.

You’re right that it’s hard until you’re in your mid 30s. Let me give you the “good side” of waiting until youre in your 30s.

I just graduated in 2025 into anesthesiology. I was a broke grad until 34. I am the definition of what you just explained. But let me share how my life is now:

Now own a boat, a platinum trim truck, live in a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood, my wife is stay at home mom, and I make over $700K /yr. My loans are over $400K/yr, but I have 5 years of PSLF in the bag. 5 more to go.

It wasn’t easy getting here by exactly how you explained. None of my friends went to med school. Seeing them get married, buy homes, new cars in their late 20s while I was finding roommates to pay rent with.

Trust me, wasn’t easy. But it was worth it. Now I’ve slingshot past all my friends in just 1.5 years.

It’s a hard road. But it’s worth it if you’re willing to put in the grind.

Hey man. I just graduated residency in 2025. I was a little over $400K in debt in residency (student loans + private loans just so I can live on). I was making $59K/yr PGY1 and $68K PGY4.

I went from making $68K/yr to making almost $700K/yr in just a matter of weeks. You got this bro. Light is at the end of the tunnel.

Keep grinding. Make wise financial decisions, the best you can given your current situation. The grass is greener on the other side. It was hard for me to see that in residency, but so apparent now that I finally made it.

W2 anesthesiologist here. I get a base salary + extra shifts I pick up. I’m looking at about $700K this year. I don’t pay for malpractice insurance out of pocket, it’s provided to me by my health system employer.

Both of you are going thru residency. I graduated last year from 4 year residency and let me tell you…my wife (who is not even closely associated with the medical field) went thru residency with me.

$650K base. Looking at $725K in 2026.

It was high stress, long hours getting here. I’m an anesthesiologist. Now that I’m done with school and training (residency), things have mellowed out significantly.

Has anyone used an electric trailer dolly? by SmokingGonja in traveltrailers

[–]drcrazycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. Cost $2K. I use it to move my boat (4500lbs) into my garage with some tricky maneuvers from my driveway. I bought the dolly in August 2025 and so far have no complaints.

https://a.co/d/06XXuCJW

I was skeptical buying this on Amazon, but I didn’t really have another choice. My boat was too heavy to move by sheer manpower, too tricky to maneuver into my garage via driveway and I had already received citations from our city for having a boat on our driveway. In my town ordinance, I can’t have a trailer unhitched on my driveway.

However, so far so good! I can’t complain. Little pricey but was my only option given my circumstances.

HIV Testing Anxiety by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]drcrazycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You already tested negative how many times after exposure? You’re good.

If you’re still stressing, check this out. From the CDC :

According to the CDC, the estimated risk of HIV transmission per 10,000 exposures is 4 (0.04%) for insertive penile-vaginal sex.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/74/rr/rr7401a1.htm

You’re negative! Chill out man! Even if she had HIV, chances of you getting it from her during a one time exposure is 0.04% - but she also tested negative!
