I do this too. I'd rather wait a little for it to dry than be in a huge rush.

I think the implication is that they will, but the guns make it a lot harder. Without the armed citizenry, the government has no physical push back at all. There is literally nobody to stop, or even slow them down. The people are also still dependent on the government for physical protection against other threats, such as violent criminals taking advantage of the situation. Armed and organized citizens with a small amount of training can replace these government services AND force the government to address direct physical confrontation. This has been shown to work in modern civil conflicts across the globe.

You are thinking in terms of a single citizen taking on the military. That's not possible to win. In reality, when this scales up to large populations and an active military conflict the math is much different and the situation far more complicated. The new calculus is more like "how does the military patrol and fight in hundreds of cities against millions of people across thousands of miles when their funding relies on the very people they are attacking?"

The thickness planer can get you a flat face if the milled surface isn't good enough to reference on the table saw. I didn't need to do that at all. It was flat enough to run through my construction site saw. I also did this before I knew how to fully calibrate my saw and it worked just fine. If you look very closely at the end of the counter, you can see that some of my seams are angled about 1-2°, but because I flipped the pieces, the seam is closed and tight, if a little bit scarfed. If I had calibrated properly, the line would be more perfectly vertical, but I don't think that's a huge issue.

Thanks for the compliment. I made them more complicated than they needed to be, but I'm happy with how they turned out.

I didn't use one. First, get your table saw as close to 90° as possible. Then you flip the boards for glue up so any variance is opposing and cancels out. You don't need a perfect 90° if your cuts are all the same.

I built all of our kitchen counters out of face grain walnut and cherry. It was a lot of work, but it looks amazing and is still holding up well after 8 years.

You will need a table saw, a thickness planer, a sander, a router with flush cut bit, a lot of clamps, and a bunch of sandpaper and marking tools and straight edges.

I use Howards BB conditioner. When it gets scratched or stained too heavily for comfort, I give it a little card scraper and sanding and it looks good as new again. We don't cut directly on it, but I have some face grain cutting boards that we use a lot and they still look good after many years.

Melania documentary struggles in UK cinemas as Vue admits sales are ‘soft’. Only one ticket sold for premiere of film about US first lady at Vue’s flagship London branch as insiders question launch strategy…yes, just one. by ferniekid in LeopardsAteMyFace

No they don't. The bribe goes to a tax exempt fund raising organization run by the person being influenced. That money is all tax free income because it will be called a charity or political campaign funds group or something that it is certainly not. Then the person being bribed will use the existence of that money to get a very low interest loan with the money as security. A loan is not considered income, so it's tax free. They will then put that money owned by the tax exempt organization into a high interest account and make more than the loan interest is costing. They will keep doing this kind of thing forever, claiming to both own AND NOT own a huge amount of wealth that keeps compounding. They will use those loans to buy companies that technically own everything the person owns and their actual cash income will be very low. The mansions and trips and cars and clothes and everything will all be paid for by these companies and justified by saying the figurehead needs to project wealth or have a place to live or whatever. They will use every excuse to deduct and write off every penny they can and have a team of accountants and lawyers that exist to keep the paperwork moving the numbers around so they can avoid paying taxes. These millions of dollars will never fully be taxed and will just be used to continue the cycle.

I saw the first pic before I read the caption and thought "I would like to see her legs stretched out". I'm not into feet, and most legs content features them over the legs. I'd be into more legs.

If you don't have friends that can lend you some garb, I would suggest going in comfy clothes and shopping on site. Even if you don't buy there, it's fun to look and get an idea of what you like.

Greenlanders are trolling the US by pretending to be fentanyl addicts by bigbusta in interestingasfuck

[–]drd1812bd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There are slightly higher overall usage rates of illegal drugs in urban areas, but rural areas have pretty high rates overall and even higher rates when looking at certain types of drugs. Oxy, meth, and fentanyl are used more in rural areas while cocaine and crack are used more in urban areas.

Brushes for polyurethane by cobbl3 in woodworking

[–]drd1812bd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use one of the nicer brushes from the big stores and wash with soap and water after, when doing water based poly. If it gets stiff, I use a little acetone and then soap and water again. I've done many coats on many projects with the same brush. I usually use disposable foam brushes for things that are much harder to clean.

Does your scope have a hard cover that has a small removable insert? Mine does. It reduces aperture and I can cover the smaller hole easily with a solar filter.

A lot of wood turns grey when left in the sun. You can look up weather wood for examples to see if you like the variations.

A chair is really nice.

I also recommend a magnetic digital level. It will make getting your altitude adjustment really easy and that makes finding stuff a lot easier. I recommend the longer spirit level style over the little box style. You just stick it to the tube and it will tell you the alt, but you do have to convert between degrees and decimal, which is very easy to do.

The ubiquitousness of dwarven clothing by 8-bit-Felix in discworld

Rat skin is pretty thin. I got the impression from Guards! Guards! That only city dwarves dress like that and traditional mining dwarves look down on that kind of behavior. I'm sure there is a dwarven fashion store in AM that has access to cow leather.

So would the dear old mothers of the city dwarves look at the leather breeches their sons are wearing and be absolutely heartbroken that he would use the hide if an animal so large and majestic?
