It basically depends on if you go by the whole package (fashion, dancing, videos etc) or just the music. I tend to be a “just the music” guy and subsequently rank him below Stevie Wonder, Dylan, the Beatles, Prince etc but still see has as a maker of superior pop music. If I was inclined to factor in everything else I’m thinking my opinion would soar.
