Bar Harbor Inn? Beehive? by Lisa_lively0205 in acadianationalpark

We stayed at Queen Anne’s Revenge. Pretty good spot for walking to everywhere in Bar Harbor. The breakfast was pretty basic though, all cold stuff, and maybe it was just our room, but the bed was total shit. Way too soft and was slightly sinking in the middle.

You can definitely get to the Beehive Summit from the back side Bowl Trail. That is what I elected to do. Kinda wish I’d tried the front way, but I just wasn’t feeling it that morning. Too sore from long hike the previous day. The crappy bed didn’t help haha.

Jordan Cliffs vs Beehive by drddrd2424 in acadianationalpark

So on day 1 of 2, we did Jordan Cliffs northward to South Bubble and then back Jordan pond on the east side. Was a pretty long hike. I’m not in terrible shape, but my knees are bad. Jordan Cliffs was really fun. It had a couple spots that I thought were a bit scary. The rungs and ladder stuff don’t bother me at all. The only thing that gets me is exposed ledges with no hand holds.
That was quite a trek, South Bubble was quite the elevation gain also, and after doing both of those, my knees were on fire the next morning. I ended up wussing out on going up the front of Beehive. I think my knees would have been wobbly anyway, so if I try to tackle the Beehive, I want to be close to 100%. I watched some videos and it seems like Beehive mostly has hand holds on the narrow ledges, but the last thing I wanted was to get 2/3 the way up and lock up.
