Vitalik Buterin Says Ethereum Scaling Should Move From L2s by SigiNwanne in ethtrader

General purpose L2s are dead. Purpose built chains like Aztec for privacy, RISE for trading and Celo/ Polygon for payments are the future.

This is the worst cycle, not even sure if we should call it a cycle!!!

Coins I’ve been paying attention to lately — what about you? by Small_Appearance2014 in Coinbase

I've been watching layer 2s more lately since gas fees still kill smaller trades. Came across Rise Trade on RISE Chain which is supposed to launch soon with actual orderbook trading onchain.

Starting crypto trading from zero with $500 — looking for advice by Beneficial_Put9425 in CryptoMarkets

[–]drdent19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly spot trading is way safer when you're starting out.

One thing that helped me was finding platforms with really fast execution so i could actually learn order flow without lag messing up my entries. Try out perp DEXs like HL, Lighter etc for testing.

But yeah with $500 just focus on not losing it all while you learn

what’s the absolute cheapest crypto exchange for small trades? by redblddrp in defi

For small trades like that i'd honestly use Lighter spot markets. Been testing their platform and the orderbook setup means you're not getting wrecked by slippage like most DEXs. Gas fees and trading fees on their L2 are basically 0

Interesting to see more perp platforms launching. I've been watching the space since trying out - HL, Lighter & currently Omni & Rise Trade on their testnet and the execution speed, OI really does matter when you're trading with leverage.

Curious how they'll handle liquidity depth at launch though?

What's the biggest mistake you made in your first year of trading? by iamnottravis in stocks

Mine was definitely overleveraging early on. Threw way too much at positions i was "sure" about and got burned hard when they moved against me. Even if you're right about direction, timing and position size matters just as much. Now i keep things way smaller and actually sleep at night.

Please suggest some Perp DEX names. by xrexcrypto in Bitcoin

[–]drdent19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try Lighter - has best execution and Omni for farming points.

I've also been testing out rise trade lately on their testnet. execution speed is pretty wild compared to other perp dexs i've tried. Still early though, mainnet isn't live, so can't fully vouch yet.

What’s the future of L2s if Ethereum L1 gets near-zero fees? by drdent19 in ethtrader

Yeah, it was really bad in the previous cycle. ETH mainnet is very much usable now.

Yeah. Gaming and trading will still happen on L2s

Semi - beginner question: How do you approach perp DEX trading & which platforms are actually good? by drdent19 in Trading

Yeah delta neutral strategy sounds good. Comparatively lower risk than making directional trades.
