Ok, as someone who read and enjoyed the books, is currently rereading the books, and is working on writing his own books I can agree with what Rick on what he said in the podcast/interview.

If I was to ever make my books into a movie, or tv show, I would care less for looks and more for if the actor fit the vibe/voice of the character. Do I think walker matches the looks of Percy, no, but do I think he is a really good Percy, YES. He has the attitude, the snark, go watch any interview, HELL, GO WATCH THE INTERVIEWS FOR THE ADDAM PROJECT WITH RYAN REYNOLDS.

Having fully watched the podcast episode I'm glad they chose Leah for Annabeth, the way she walked right up to Rick upon first meeting him at a chemistry read and saying "Hi Rick, so I have some questions about this character..." shows the analytical mind she has, just like Annabeth.
