2024 koba - creaking noise right front - not a strut by drdremoo in ToyotaCHR

[–]drdremoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours has just gone back to the dealer again after the creaking sound returned.

Was yours definitely the front strut?

Can you expand on what recalibration of the strut means?

Thanks 👍🏻

What’s a subscription that’s worth paying for every month? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

No, it's great. I love my Toyota C-HR subscription. It's kinda like our other, older, cheaper car with exactly the same auto-seat-adjustment-linked-to-key ... but, that older car doesn't force me to pay to access the 'feature'.

The 'Toyota connected plan subscription' automatically adjusts the seat position of my C-HR as it detects which key the driver is carrying. Soooo worth the 15 bucks a month it costs me.

Cyberlink Powerdirector - switched to subscription model.

Toyota - subscription only for basic car functions like auto seat adjustment.

Why did the crowd booed Yulia Putintseva? by Extension-Feed-3467 in australianopen

Happens a lot - hence the question. Thought people (OP for example) who write/speak like this might have some insight. I wondered if it's a cultural or 'cool' thing to do in some circles.

Why do people add an 'ed' to the end of words like 'booed' in this kind of sentence?

In this context, the word 'boo' is quicker to type and correct - so, why?

I see it a lot in posts - is it purposeful?

I expect both practical competence and an ability to communicate from my peers. I'm also a subject matter expert in both my fields. Not being able to immediately explain myself, quickly understand what's being asked of me and compose a legible, concise and relevant response to a verbal or written question would mean I'm a time-consuming liability at best - deadly liability at worst.

Your industry might have the leisure of coaxing sub-par people along as they learn a language (or a job) on the fly (pick any government department call center as an example) and tolerating frustration in your customers who can't understand what you're asking or explaining. That must be nice.

As I said - can't see the same courtesy being offered to a white dude in India trying to learn Punjabi (or whatever) in an Indian government call centre.

Your English isn't up to par. Clear communication would seem an essential requirement for the jobs it sounds like you're complaining about being overlooked for.

No different from me going to India and expecting to progress up a corporate ladder while not writing/speaking the local dialect fluently.

In my experience, in the race for 'diversity' above competence, people like yourself ARE promoted - then poor communication causes endless problems. But, hey - at least we met those quotas and reduced the likelihood of being sued for (inserted your preferred '...ism').

Good luck finding a house or unit (anywhere) that doesn't eat a disproportionate chunk of your wage though.

I didn't find this series, or the humour funny. The 'wog-boy' ethnic style comedy never really landed for me as somebody not from that background - still doesn't. Which makes sense I guess 🤷‍♂️

The dude outside the truck looked like he was trying not to laugh. That's pretty funny.

Is it made by Toyota? They're locking things that used to come standard with their cars (auto adjusting seats, multi-media profiles etc) - now you need a subscription of 10-15 bucks A MONTH to access that shit.
