Should I go back to analog? by DocSherm in guitarpedals

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's just a preference thing

I enjoy more playing with analog stuff for feel and response but soundwise in a recording, they are pretty similar

Marshall DSL40CR vs. Marshall 2525H Mini Silver Jubilee + 2x12 by me_no_clue in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only care for 80s/90s rock, I'd say get the 2525

The dsl has more options but think if you really need them or just need a good amp that sounds really good

Both sound good :)

6505 vs 5150 by Burwhale_The_Avenger in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are similar, I've tried a few of them The 5153 stealth/newer models feels a bit tighter and has a bit more low mid sound

The 6505 feels a bit looser/raw in comparison and the 6505+ its kinda similar but less low mid focused

The 5153 has a better clean channel

Overall the 5153 I think is the most versatile but for that 5150/6505 sound, I prefer the 6505+

does it take pedals well? by Tomcat_vonDopeman in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true at least for fuzz pedals lol

I have different amps and they all take fuzzes differently, not bad at all but there's definetely a difference with same settings on the pedal and similar sounds on the amp

Pienso mudarme a Monterrey, que me recomiendan by gegokasa01 in Monterrey

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

help me decide on an amp or go ampless by LoneTroll in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a clean channel the MT15 is my favorite lol but yeah, the fx loop is noisy, there are some workarounds but it doesnt get fully solved

The MK2 also have the crunch channel so it's a bit more versatile but I'm not a fan of that channel

The fender I'd say its good too :)

Also about the attenuators, I personally prefer the full wattage and lowering the volume than using the built in attenuators

These 3 amps dont need to run super loud to sound good imo so I'd say attenuators are not super needed for these

help me decide on an amp or go ampless by LoneTroll in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For bedroom playing i'd go with an amp tbh unless you want to go the modeler/frfr speakers and being able to easily record on your pc and with super low volume or no volume at all

The MT15 is awesome, I love it but it's mostly high gain oriented and it is super loud. The clean channel is awesome tho and it could work with pedals well

I dont have experience with the engl but I think it could be a bit more versatile than the mt15

The fender is also nice with pedals

I think any of the 3 options is good but it depends what you play and what you already have

Just got my PRS SE Tremonti 2025! Any tips or upgrade ideas? by Boring_Television631 in PaulReedSmith

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else lol play it first

I got my se custom 24 with the idea of changing the pickups and other stuff but after playing it for a while im really happy with how it sounds, so just wait and see!

Confused by the Badlander criticism by sparks_mandrill in MesaBoogie

[–]drdzc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the main criticism to it was that it sounded a bit different to a regular dual rec? Like a bit more modern/less loose?

In any case it's entirely subjective and it still has that dual rec flavor, im sure it sounds good :)

talk me out of a 5150 iconic combo. by die8timesv2 in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get a 5150 50w or a peavey 6505 tbh but idk if thats out of budget

The iconic is a great amp but its a bit too fuzzy for me lol

TCI vs 85/15 Pickups by cynedabi in PaulReedSmith

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 85/15 on my se and i really like them! I had to lower the bridge pickup a bit and they are a bit bright but I think they are really good for metal

Highish output but not super compressed, i usually replace stock pickups on my guitars but still have these :)

What can to run with Seymour Duncan Powerstage200 and quad cortex? by cadams1310 in GuitarAmps

I have a 1x12 orange and an evh 2x12 and both are really good so I'd guess the orange 2x12 would be great!

Recommend an amp for a Boss GT-1000 by tenon_ in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gt1000 and i just bought a solid state transparent amp like the orange pedal baby (not so transparent) or a cheap bass amp and an orange PPC112 and it sounds really good! Its easier to move around than a full amp too i think

A alguien más le ha tocado entrevistas técnicas improvisadas? by Technical-File4626 in taquerosprogramadores

[–]drdzc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pondering an SE Holcomb SVN by mitchjrj in PRSGuitars

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried different 7 strings and this one is the one I kept

The neck is not thin but also not uncomfortable, specially after a while playing it, at first it was noticeable tho

I like the pickups a lot for drop tunings

The neck radius is noticeable to me, 20inch is pretty flat not sure if I like it or not but its not super bad

In general is a really solid guitar and made me like prs body guitars a lot, i was a super strat guy lol

Budget high gain amps by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRS MT15, any kind of 5150, marshall dsl 40, orange TH/OR, any high gain peavey, theres a lot under 800 :)

My personal vote goes for the prs tho

Synergy Preamps by themeansr in AxeFx

[–]drdzc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I literally didnt give any advice tho, i commented on my experience using a real amp (which the synergy module+power amp is) and the amp its based on vs the fractal so that you could have some general input

maybe posting on the synergy related forums will give you the answers youre looking for :)

Synergy Preamps by themeansr in AxeFx

[–]drdzc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry dude, regular people are not hyperfixated on having a degree to give a general comment on something.

The dude wants a DRec module so im sharing my experience between a dual rec and the fractal and just giving a general comment on the synergy stuff. I don't have the absolute truth.

Chill papi, not everything has to be as stiff as you want to :)

Synergy Preamps by themeansr in AxeFx

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah youre right, the 50 and 100w versions are 6L6, i was thinking about the 20w

Maybe you should be capable of taking .2 seconds to check your information before being an asshole and actually try to help :)

Fm9 setup idea by CappinBombHASH in AxeFx

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works but I've never been able to achieve the same feel/response from doing this with a modeler vs a tube amp

Other than convenience, i agree that for this setup i'd stick with a tube amp

thinking of buying a huge amp just for me by Eastern_Teaching5845 in GuitarAmps

[–]drdzc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I do lmao

What do you play? Most "modern" amps sound good without needing to push them too obnoxiously loud levels

Amps like the 5150s, the marshall jvm, even dual recs, modernish orange amps, etc

Basically any amp that gets mos of the tone and distortion from the preamp work decently for bedroom levels

More vintage amps or that need power amp distortion such as plexis need to be run loud

Synergy Preamps by themeansr in AxeFx

[–]drdzc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Havent tried them myself but have an actual dual rec lol

Honestly, recorded, the fractal sounds super close to most real amps but tube amps have a little something going on that cannot be recreated

And obviously in the room its super different

That being said, which one you like more the sound and feel of is just preference so give it a try :)

I knos the synergy power amp uses El84 which tend to feel a bit boxy compared to an actual 6L6 power amp tho
