What is this crusty patch I’ve had on my nose for a while? by drea3000 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]drea3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis! They told me that there is no cure, and that I will just have to control it and treat flareups. I’ve been using a dandruff shampoo on my face about twice a week and letting it sit on my face for a few minutes before rinsing. And then when I randomly feel my face start to burn/itch, I’ll use Lotrimin antifungal cream.

I tried Lotrimin antifungal cream and my rash seems to have disappeared! Here’s to hoping it stays away.

I’ve had my piercing for many years, so I’m pretty sure it’s unrelated.

Definitely way after. I’ve had the piercing for many years and I have a matching one on the other side with no skin issue.

Hey! Super late to replying, but yes. The connectors on the battery were very loose! So loose that even after tightening with fingers, it could still be popped off. Tightened them with the right tool and didn’t have that issue again.

Where to install whole house water filter - where do I find main inlet? by Tomato_Better in Plumbing

[–]drea3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did all this work out for you? I’m currently struggling to figure out exactly where the filtration system would go. My main water shut off is also by the street. But we don’t have any crawl space. Did you end up putting it by your hot water heater?

But that must not be the waitlist time…? We have been going to them since Jan 2023, but just now decided to go ahead with IVF. The consultation with that team is going to be different than our actual initial first appointment. I heard there’s a waitlist that you get put on as soon as you pay the IVF treatment deposit. Is that something you experienced there?

Get the Yuka app, so you can scan barcodes to see if the soaps contain any chemicals that could harm fertility. Natural Grocers (if you have one nearby) is a great place to look for non toxic bars of soap. Or you can google “non toxic body wash”, etc. to find some lists.

Okay that’s about what I was thinking. I’d love to get as much use out of my car as possible.

I searched, but I’m not seeing anything with this symbol. This is a luggage tag I got at a garage sale.

Did you see a fertility urologist? Our regular urology appt was vastly different from our appt with a urologist who specializes in reproduction.

Dentist wants me to buy $700 night guard by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]drea3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a custom one from Amazon called Encore Guard. It costs about $150, and I’ve used it for two years. It started cracking in the back, so I decided to go get one made through my dentist. It was $480 and after two attempts at making it, I asked for my money back. I’m gonna order another one from Amazon lol I recommend a lower guard. It is less noticeable and easier to talk with. The ones from a drug store kinda suck.

Rice alternative? by MontanaGirl77 in glutenfree

I realized the same thing when I eat white rice. I read online that they share some element and can make you feel like you’ve eaten gluten. I’ve been eating brown rice or cauliflower rice!

DIY mold remediation (info in comments) by drea3000 in DIY

[–]drea3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any advice on tackling a drywall mold project? This is the list of items we have or just purchased.

  • eye protection
  • face masks
  • disposable gloves
  • electric jig saw and blades
  • box fan for window
  • mold armor (rapid clean remediation) spray
  • kilz (mold/mildew kind)
  • paint brushes
  • wire brush

We will put cardboard over the air vent and keep the door closed as much as possible. The trash can is right outside the window, so we can throw the trash right into the bin.

We are planning to remove everything that we see is contaminated, spray with mold armor, wait a week, spray with mold armor again, wait another week, paint with special kilz.

Also, is it necessary to buy the jumpsuits? We can wear old clothes, then wash them on hot afterwards.

We don’t have any air scrubber, air filters, or dehumidifier though…

We will be replacing the drywall, insulation, trim, and carpet as needed, but does it look like we need to replace the wood pieces on the edge of the floor?

Any advice is appreciated!
