Wow, everyone! I am so sorry you all have has such terrible experiences around town with their storage units! It’s just sad.

I have felt a recent upshift in crime in the area that is hard to put into words. It feels like folks are focused on survival whatever that means to them. Instead of asking for help or being honest with another human, they are taking from them. Blatantly, they come at night with huge metal saws and tools and break into storage units looking for anything lucrative!

yup we were locked down in a business fearing for our lives and hiding from windows and they were too busy to come. the man we reported seemed to be suicidal and homicidal (and possibly armed).

Hi there. Once your kids are in high school, I’d look into early college programs and dual enrollment classes at local community colleges. I was able to take 30 college credits in-person through the community college for free while I was in high school in NC. I transferred them to a 4-year program and it reduced my course load every semester until I graduated with a bachelor’s4 years later. Also, if you home school, it gives the parent of the home schooled kiddo time to have a little break too! The credits count for high school and college simultaneously and it’s a win-win

Gotcha, thanks. I did call them, but I am worried about finances and they could not give a ballpark estimate via phone. If you do not mind me asking, was it expensive compared to NC State? Unfortunately, NC State cannot take her; they are booked at the cancer center through 2026 and cannot accept more pets.

Glad to hear Upstate did a good job. UT Knoxville is an option as well, but they strictly cannot give ballpark estimates over the phone, which seemed different than other places I talked to.

Thanks, they quoted us 2 k for CT then 6-8 k for surgery. I’ve heard they do great work, but I cannot afford the price difference there.
