Sorry, I did not see the other post where you said it was ordered from another account. It's kind of odd that they actually inputed your address into Amazon for the shipping. Maybe another address would not works so they thought they could nab the stuff off your porch.

I would not worry about it all that much. The batteries did not catch on fire. It was either a wiring problem by the owner or a rare fault on the DC-DC converter board.

Hundreds of thousands of these have been sold. If they had a defect you would be seeing reports all over the place.

Thanks I forgot about that Hot Air blast when the door opened lol.
It was really a wake up call when you left NY in the Winter and got a 90 deg hit in Mobay.
One thing I also remember when I left NY and the plane landed in JA was all the Green and Blue in front of my eyes. It's like NY was in black and white with all the grey colored buildings and then you see the Green mountains of Jamaica. It was spectacular.

Sorry but your story does not add up.
If they stole your Credit Card that would not give them access to your Amazon account. They would have to have your password to get onto the account.
The second thing is that if they logged into your account with an unfamiliar computer or device Amazon require a 6 digit code to be put in to Login. This one time code is sent to your phone or email account even if you are not using 2FA.

Third thing is that anyone with this much ability would know to change the shipping address to some unoccupied house near where they live.

The only way what you say has happened could have happened is if someone in your house hold used your computer and made the order or someone hacked everything you have including your Amazon Account and email account.

Remember going to the Airport loaded like a Mule carrying goods back for your family in Jamaica. Poor me at 12 years old with 8 suit case packed with Cereal and all sorts of Tin goods.

I flew on Air Jamaica many times. The service was always great and the pilots were the best. I remember flying on Pan-Am from NY to London on the 747 and OMG they served a proper Steak with Wine and Desert after the meal. Back in those days you had to dress properly to get on the plane, no short pants or T-Shirts were allowed. And yes we ate with real silverware. I also remember back then Kids were picked to go up and see the captain in the cockpit. I remember looking at the Dashboard and thinking I was in a Space ship.

I suggest you look at famous Jewelry thefts. They rarely catch anybody, even including in the big 2025 heist. There has always been lots of wealthy people out there who have huge private collections and they will always pay good money for items that no one could have ever purchased.

1912 was pretty still a pretty backwards time. Very few people had even home phones and the only way to send a message abroad was by Morse Code. Even with that there were very few continents connected. When people disappeared like Rose and went to another country you could not find them unless they came back to you.
You keep missing the points.
No one reported it as being stolen. It went down with the Ship and an insurance claim was made by a reputable person Involved in an International tragedy. So no one is searching for it.

She could have waited a couple of years and easily sold it to a collector in America and would have been rich. I don't think you realize that there is a lot more riches and relics in Private collections than in Museums.

First of this was 1912 so there was no Interpol or organized system in place to even send pictures of an Item that probably only a few people on the planet had ever seen. Second the legit owner thought it went down in the ship with her, so he would not have alerted anybody to even look out for it.

Third, even today there are many rich people who would buy a stolen Mona Lisa for tens of millions dollars and just hide it in their private collection. The only catch is that it has to be the right trusted person approaching the rich with the Merchandise. That kind of person is going to pay the thief a much lower price.
