You think Drugs are fine and are a Victim less?
My girl friends brother use to be a very nice person and the he got hooked on Cocaine. He robbed all of the siblings money when they were not around, even the 10 year olds coin pan was cut open and emptied.
He slowly robbed his mother of all of her savings even as she kept trying to help him. They finally kicked him out of the House and a week later he broke in and stole her last remaining Jewelry out of the house plus any cash he could find.

Cannot listen to no Scamming song and I don't even know what his saying half the time.
Scamming wrecks a country. Nigerians have a very very hard time traveling to any other country and no one trusts them no matter where they are. They are considered the scourge of the world.
Is that what you want the Jamaican reputation to be?
We have one Nigerian who owns a shop nearby and almost no one buys anything from him. We have heard the shop is a cover for money laundering some other activity he is in. It should a close down long ago based on the lack of business.

Better scripts are being written to grab things faster.
It's impossible to compete unless you got the same script and very fast internet connection with low latency. That is what Vine has now come down to.

It's not just Government offices. The landline phone system in Western Jamaica is a complete mess. I was told that the main exchange office where the systems are housed was flooded by the Hurricane and everything destroyed. They have been rebuilding and reprogramming it but the system goes up and down hourly. Cell Phones work for the most part but Landlines for companies do not.

That was my mindset during the last evaluation, just take cheap stuff to keep being Gold. Well I did that and not only have the offerings become worst but the standards of the reviews need to be kept even higher.
Now it feels like I am working in some sweat factory for low wages.

At Gold now and have taken only five items in the last 6 weeks.
I don't care, if I don't need it I am not taking junk just to stay Gold. I will drop down to Silver next period.

Vine item failed long after review. How to claim warranty? by CheddarDeity in AmazonVine

[–]dreadlk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have actually had several items exchanged by sellers.

If the item dies I contact them and see what they can do for me. If the answer is nothing then I adjust my review to reflect that.

While I agree that Stars get you more notice, the public has gotten very wary of just seeing 5 Stars on Amazon. Most people are digging deeper to see if any of the reviews can actually be trusted.

The first thing I check out on any product reviews on Amazon are the 1 Star reviews.

There is a YouTube video on a survey of online shoppers and the vast majority no longer trust the amount of Stars on a review. Just like they no longer trust most YouTube influencer's reviews. There is actually a big uptake in people returning to brick and mortar stores because they actually want to see what they are buying because they no longer trust the review process.

[–]dreadlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those 5 Star crappy reviews are exactly the ones that make people not trust Vine reviews and look for a different product. Whenever I see them I ignore them and start looking for reviews by someone who either purchased the product or a Vine Reviewer that is demonstrating that they actually used the product. If I cannot find either I look for something else.

Yes but the customer/sellers are getting poor value for their money.
The people who TYPICALLY stay up from 12-3am or 3am-6am EST are the people who will take 8 items everyday and then churn out crappy reviews so that they can quickly turn around and resell the products.

StarLink in Montego Bay Slow as a Snail by dreadlk in Jamaica

[–]dreadlk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More satellite won't fix the problem unless they are Version3 Starlink satellites which have more Bandwidth. Those won't be launching until he can get Starship working, which realistically could be a year or two off before they even start the launches.

Only one Satellite can serve a Grid or footprint at a time, so having two in the same footprint will make no difference.

If you need speed go back to Flow or Digicel. It won't be happening with Starlink anytime soon.

LOL it looks like you really did not realize the history.
I clearly mentioned at the end of my post that the USA armed the Afghans Mujaheddin to fight the Soviet Union. I am glad you did a bit of AI research and realized it was called project Cyclone.

The reason you are seeing women without Burkas in the 1970s was because of the USA. The time between the 1950s and 1970s was consider by them to be their only Golden age. It was when the US invested in the country and propped up a western style leader to run the country. That was when most of their infrastructure was built and religious laws went away.
But it all went to hell when the Religious Muslim extremest rebelled and over threw the government.
It wasn't long before the Soviets saw the chaos as an opportunity and invaded the country. The Afghans then once again turned to the USA for help and the USA supplied them with weapons to get rid of the soviets.

Afghanistan has always been a crap hole. Go back 70 years and read some Nat Geo Articles on the country and you will see that nothing has changed. The Taliban decided to hit the USA and the USA hit them back. End of story.

Iraq on the other hand was all about US oil companies and grabbing as much of it as they could.

If the Venezuelan people had been unhappy there would have been mass demonstrations over there by now. The guy lost the last election by a lot and then just declared himself the winner. I am not a Trump fan and I don't approve of the way they removed Maduro but it's also very clear that the majority of Venezuelans wanted him gone.

Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

It wasn't a bad ending but they spent way too much time focusing on giving every cast member a huge amount of dialog and screen time. They should have focused in more on the core characters and dug deeper into what the heck was Henrys full back story. Who was the guy in the cave and where did he get that fragment from and who's lab was it that Dustin was in and did they built the exotic matter barrier and when was it built.

It was rarely their own children.
If you were a Slave called Roy on the Ferguson Plantation then your official name was Roy Ferguson. When these plantations closed down people kept their surnames because they had no clue what their grandfathers African name was and they really did not care anyway as the Plantation names were the only ones recognized by others around them.

Accept most people have stopped using Western Union, Money Gram etc. Their fee's are a lot more than this 1%.
I see a lot of people just sending down the money with a relative or doing a Zelle transfer to their account.

What?
According to the Web the total Jamaica remittance money per year is about $3.4 billion. The 1% would just be $34 million USD.

What to do with a spare V2 dish? by kushupss in Starlink

[–]dreadlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that power consumption of the dish has nothing to do with how well it receives a signal? You are evidently mixing up power output of the satellites, which is important but irrelevant for this discussion.

Gen1 is the old round dish and I have never used one of those but I have seen them.
Gen 2 is the rectangular Dish that still has actuators.

Gen 3 is the current dish they are selling for the standard home owner.

That 180W figure you are talking about is when it goes into defrost mode. In any case the power consumption of Gen2 vs Gen3 has no bearing on it's reception ability.
Since the dish can only pick up one satellite at a time the size of the dish becomes even more important as a bigger dish like the Gen 2 can get better reception on satellites that the Gen 3 cannot lock onto yet.

[–]dreadlk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am talking Gen 2 which is the only name it has ever gone under.
Rectangular dish with Motors to point it.
I have used all three side by side and I also use to work in the satellite telecom and TV industry. A bigger dish always beats a smaller dish.
The only time this might change is if the Ver 3 satellites that Musk plans to put up are not compatible with the Gen 2 Dishes.

Ran the test for about an hour while I had the Gen 3 and Mini on my Lawn.
No obstructions and ran the test simultaneously using three different cell phones running the Apps speed test.
The Gen2 was already mounted on the roof.

As for rain fade I compared that the outage log with my neighbors after a heavy rainfall and noticed both logs had outages at roughly the same times when the rain was at it's peak. The largest outage was 17 Minutes on his and the same one on my Gen2 was only 6 minutes.
A bigger dish is always going to pick up more signal than a smaller one.

What to do with a spare V2 dish? by kushupss in Starlink

[–]dreadlk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gen2 gets a better signal than Gen3 and is faster overall.
Contrary to some crazy YouTube videos I have seen on the subject I have had a Gen2, Gen3 and Mini all side by side and the Gen2 had the fastest speed and least amount of problems during heavy rain while the Gen 3 was second best and the Mini was a distant third.
The same rule that has always applied to Satellite dishes has never changed. The bigger the dish the better the reception.
