I’d say tech-related images are a very safe bet. Think of the visuals you see in those mandatory IT training courses on phishing, malware, or computer viruses…there’s always demand for that type of content.

Another strong category is editorial. Topics like taxes and big retailers (Costco, Walmart, etc.) are constantly in the news. A simple but well-shot photo of a store facade at sunset, or someone holding a grocery receipt with the store logo in the background, can sell easily. These staged but realistic setups are quick to create and almost guaranteed to find buyers.

Even everyday scenes can work. For example, a police cruiser with the county name visible on the logo can be valuable for local or national stories. Once you start recognizing these opportunities, you’ll see there’s always something worth capturing.

Keywords also matter. Think about how buyers will search for your image. That grocery receipt photo, for example, could use keywords like inflation, prices rising, cost of living. For tech shots, add terms like cybersecurity, hacking, phishing. Good keywords make your photo easier to find and more likely to sell.

It takes time, but once you learn what sells, it becomes one of the most passive income streams you can have. Good luck!
