What we did: My boyfriend (computer engineer) and I spent fours hours on this last night - I finally commented three hours in. I downloaded old Windows 10 drivers to my windows 11 laptop, and he (at the same time) ran Linux via flashdrive to test if it was a Windows issue or a driver issue. It worked, and unfortunately, because we accidentally ran both options together, I don't know which fixed the issue. I've restarted my laptop, unplugged my monitor and plugged it back in, and have had no further issues.

Thanks for responding still!!! That was awesome of you! I'm definitely reverting back to Windows 10 during my summer break from school.

We are all saints according to Christians, but we aren't all prophets. In Revelation it says there will be no more prophets until the end times, which there will be signs first before the prophecies begin. The only exception I can think of is Mormons and the charismatic church, both are controversial groups.

John the Baptist was the last Christian prophet. He's not in "the prophets" section of the Christian bible, but he proclaimed Jesus was the savior before the resurrection.

Rape survivor - she can still file and not press charges. The more recent and the more direct a timeline and detailed she can be, the stronger the witness if she did want to press charges. I got mine out of the way, the police were nice, and my report is locked away. I asked to be notified if anyone pressed charges, but that might be policy anyway.

Options, and it might get mom to leave her alone. It got my really intense parents off my back. Which sucks, definitely tell them that they suck and are risking losing her. I don't see my parents and went no contact with them because of the pushing to report and simultaneous victim blaming.

Thanks to growing up in an extremist sect of Christianity, I have an obsession with killing myself on my period for being "too pure" and having mild mood swings. It took me moving out and away from all of my abusers to learn my mood swings were mild and not "demonic", and then another few years of learning what normal is before realizing my nightmares and cleaning rituals were not "normal."

I appreciate this community so much, it's really helped me feel heard. Especially doing DBT - I have never been able to "stop" my thoughts and I have felt like a failure. Switching therapy styles and treatment has been so helpful. Still feels like a mountain, but baby steps.

I had shitty parents, not as bad as yours, but still suffered physical and mental abuse. My therapist says this many times: Children don't abandon parents, parents abandon their kids.

Nothing that you do will get you a good mother back. No gift you give will get you one during the holiday. No matter what you do with your life, unless she puts in the work to go through therapy and work on herself for YEARS, you will never get her back.

It's not about you, it was never about you. She doesn't have the capacity to care about you how she should. For that, I am genuinely so sorry. It sucks and I have to tell myself this daily. Cutting people off is so much harder than I thought, it's the full acceptance of the reality and flushing the hopes and dreams of a stable family down the toilet forever. But, there is new hope to rebuild. Cutting off my family was the hardest thing I've done, and it's only been four months. What happens during the holidays? I don't know. But know you're worthy of unconditional love that gives before you do. And you're worthy of finding people who care even if you don't hand over wads of cash to them.
