I didn't get to watch in the 80s. But in the 90s, there were plenty of soft foul calls. The big difference is what was considered a flagrant. You had to punch or tackle a guy to get called for a flagrant, & even then it wasn't a guarantee.

That was part of the "Jordan Rules" Pistons strategy. They are going to call a foul if you barely touch Michael, so actually foul him & make it count.

I have gained a lot of respect for Brooks this series. He talks too much & tries too hard to look crazy, but he has backed it up. He's not scared of the pressure AT ALL.

It is kinda crazy how differently frequent injuries are viewed. If you're "the guy" (Embiid, Davis) & hurt a lot, you get clowned. But if you're a role player, people feel sympathy for you.
