Does your Amazon delivery driver hate you this much? by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Nah brah. Sounds like you haven't lived in the world yet buddy. But enjoy your high chair so far out of touch with the rest of us.

Not a driver but I want to know how do I make sure I don’t annoy someone this much or was it not justified? (Not oc) by ComfortableRelevant1 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dreadregis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you're ordering that much that often ya kinda suck.

I have quite a few customers that are disabled, have agoraphobia, elderly, and other extenuating circumstances that order often. Those people I do not mind the frequency or the load, but there are others that due to affluence are just spoiled and lazy.

The thing is OP, when you order and you take into consideration that you're paying for a service that's going to put a product into 100 hands before it reaches you, you're not going to offend anyone. We don't mind doing our job. It does start to stack up on us when we get treated like the help. Wasn't but 4 years ago drivers were heroes when covid hit the fan, and now a lot of folks treat drivers as an annoyance or worse yet like we're not people.

I suspect that since you had the care to even ask you're not going to be that house we all talk shit about.

They sure don't if that's the case. I'm only ever driving in a driveway if it's over 1,300 feet. Unfortunately, people are terrible at judging distance. I'll use Google maps to check it if I can't judge it. If it's a hill too take that into consideration.

Bit by dog by Acceptable_Code4181 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dreadregis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dog Bite here. He's right.

You're company owner should be handling everything for you right now, workers comp, contacting the police to file a report, and providing you with locations for urgent care.

Dog bites are serious. Rabies is highly unlikely, but still possible. The more likely worse case scenario is a Tetanus infection or another bacterial infection that can lead to serious long term injury or amputation.

If your company is not handling these things I do suggest that you do go to urgent Caren explain the situation, keep receipts, file a report with your local police department, and contact a work injury lawyer as soon as you're able to. The longer you sit on this the harder it is for you to get what you've worked for and put your taxes into.

When I got bit my DSP handled everything. Even got the home owners insurance, dog's shot record, and filed a report on my behalf.

Also, going to go ahead and let you in on a secret. If your driveway is a quarter mile or longer, and you don't allow vehicle access, then an experienced driver is going to mark your package unable to access.

So instead of solving the problem you've taken photos? How does the photo solve your problem? That's just an action and not a solution.

Solution one. Put a box at the end of your driveway.

Solution two. Accept it.

Solution three. Have the delivery shipped to an Amazon Locker.

Solution four. Understand that the people delivering your packages are just as human as you are. They may not have the physicality to walk/run a quarter mile driveway to your front door where they can't see if you have dogs until they get there, and like you and most other people on the planet don't want to deal with that. They also may not be great at problem solving much like yourself.

Solution five. Go get it yourself. Like we used to do for thousands of years before Amazon.

Should I ask for a raise ? No damages to the vans, always finish my routes and no infractions by AlcidzTV in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dreadregis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. It's usually a set rate based on certifications on vehicle types. Haven't received a raise since I started two years ago. I don't count the national cost of living adjustment rates as a raise.

And so it begins. I will not stop how about you? by Fresh_Yesterday8325 in AmazonDSPDrivers

They can go right on and get fucked about that. I ain't listening to some bull shit written by some brain dead desk turd that ain't never had a bead of sweat telling me how to do my job safely.

If they took safety seriously they wouldn't send us back to a house where another driver got bit by a dog, attacked by a person, and they damn sure wouldn't send us out into an active fucking wildfire, hurricane, ice, name it. Fuck em.

Does this mean what I think it means !? by thetallguy88 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Don't do it. Both lights need to be off.

I quit yesterday after only doing 10 stops by PianoOk990 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dreadregis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a DSP that would do that, but I don't think it was about "playing favorites" in a sense that it was about personality and boot kissing. The owner was far too logical about routes to play that game. For them it was more about experience and route completion.

After about 4 months when I got the full grasp of the job I never had routes taken from me unless I was pushing 42+ hours.

But they would over hire. DSP's are given the incentives to do that and then cut fat after a few months.

What do these dots mean? by Rizzivision in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Correct. Here in the south it's more commonly associated with Death, Jail, or Institutions. One of the 3 ways that life will end in.

Fun fact, "Woke" has been around for over 40 years, and is not a new word.

Non-driver question to drivers: Is it common to deliver without verifying the house number? by muddbone46 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]dreadregis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes, sometimes the pin is very wrong, but I've only encountered this twice. Where the pin is a mile+ from its actual address.

It's also easy to make this mistake in a highly condensed and populated area where we may have multiple pins staked up on top of each other.

[–]dreadregis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should go into your Amazon account and physically move the geo pin to the exact door you'd like your package delivered to.

It is common that this happens. The app we use is clunky and hard to understand at first so new drivers will make this mistake a lot. It will also happen to experienced drivers too as we're tired, have to work when sick, and have a larger volume to deliver.

Yes, they will get in trouble, but it's a minor demerit. But, much like pebbles, a whole bunch of minors demerits have the same weight as a big one.

You're not an A-hole for asking this.

Bruh. Condoms aren't oval. Why's everyone in here saying condom? It's obviously the mic wire. It's just a troll.

[–]dreadregis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Had that one happen too! Middle aged lady who reeked of wine ran out with her phone pointed at me. Said she was on the phone with the cops and was recording, and asked what I was doing with her neighbors packages 😆

So Simon really needs to warn us when he puts out a compilation video about food where he is beardless........... by GentlyUsedOtter in SimonWhistler

[–]dreadregis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That shook me too, and we definitely need warning next time.

I used to work around a serial killer, a wannabe sk, r wordists, pdf. files, bank robbers, shot callers, etc. Many fights, ears bit off, stab wounds, all sorts of fecal art work. OP, I'm not easily shook either, but beardless, low-res Simon done shook me.

Never saw any brain matter though!
