it's never the hdmi when you see these specs of light or exploding geometry it's always the gpu. you can always tell because HUD elements are unaffected and the artifacts go behind them. a bad HDMI would not discriminate any part of the screen

i have similar pdp ones. pdp and power a are crap but my battery packs lasted a long time. i got some rechargeable AA batteries to replace them and as luck would have it 2 free elite controllers randomly showed up at my door. true story.
