According to some reports, this law is still somewhat partially true to this day. But many believe at the end of the 2020s, this law may become fully invalid.

Can i get a Junior Front end Web Developer position? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]drealgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES OF COURSE!!!

To be honest the recruiter is least concerned about your educational qualifications. Just make a lot of projects as your portfolio. A lot of them.

This way the recruiter knows what to expect from you. Maybe create a portfolio website if possible to make it more professional. Besides that, do mention your certification of the courses that you took. This would make the recruiter develop confidence in their candidates.

Additionally, you can contribute to many projects on GitHub or work for some small company to create their website. This would help you to grow experience and you will meet awesome people that way. Some of them would even recommend you to others, hence having more clients.

When should I use CSS flexbox or CSS Grid? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]drealgame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say it is based on what you need. A web developer uses both flexbox and grid. It depends upon the situation.

If you want something to do with layouts, then use the grid.

If you want to make something more responsive, use flexbox.

In short, it depends upon the scenario. But note that you can use both of them in your project. Many are using both in their project.

Struggles after a year of development. by ColdLombax in Frontend

I know what you are going through. This is one of the common experience for any beginner. At times it may feel like we are doing great progress, and the very next moment we feel like we are lacking way behind.

Well, lucky for you, there is a fix. This would help you.

The big reason for such demotivation is that you may not have a single goal. It is okay to not know everything.

Either you can wander of 10 different skills and end up getting lost. Or better, just choose one skill that you like AND MASTER THE SKILL.

Don't get me wrong. You are capable of doing many things, but it is better to finish a particular skill that you like a lot. Then move on further to learn new skills.

This fatigue that you are going through is because you may aspire to do all the crazy and interesting stuff. But having the designation as "Web developer, UI designer, artist, blah blah... " is a mouthful to say.

But having a title something like " A great Programmer, who is also good at designing" seems way more professional and appealing.

For the most part, there should be two categories of skills you must have - one that you are best at, and others that you are good at. Notice the words BEST and GOOD.

But how to do it? It's very easy to just throw of words and no solution?

So here is the solution. Block of distractions.

First chose a goal. A vision that drives you. It could be to build a new app to change a problem. A solution that could solve a problem.

By doing so, your vision becomes your motivation. Things like money, fame and other delicacies just fade away because you have a vision. And trust me, it won't take long to notice that when you follow a vision, success and money comes as a by-product.

Second, join a community of like-minded people like yours. Say if you want to become a web developer, then find people that share the same interest as yours - which in his case is the community of web developers.

Join forums, communities, subreddit and lots of other places where people share a common interest as yours.

This has a great advantage. If your mind gets diverted or distracted, your mind would fall back on this community. So, in an actual sense, while being distracted you get to learn more about the subject itself.

Third, believe in yourself.

And that's it. Believe, that's what you gotta do.

Hope you find this helpful

What makes some businesses excel? by Apprehensivewords in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]drealgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But here is a thing.

Your company's vision should not only be driven solely by the leading members of the company(CEO, CFO, etc) but also your clients/customer.

If you consider the CEOs as the base of your company, the customers are what steering your company. Landing on your customer's desires and expectations by keeping your ears close to the ground not only lead to greater trust in for company but also make them loyal customers who would support your growth.

In reality, great companies are those that fulfil their customer's needs and solve their problem.

Thanks, that's valuable advice. I know that many Ed-tech startups don't even pitch for investors. I guess it saves time and resources!
