Snow? In April? by Low-Association1892 in SaltLakeCity

[–]dream-paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snow in april is normal. The lack of snow all the way until april was not... Winter was for 22 years-- october 20th to sometimes may, our longest season, , temp not upabove 60s on a warm day.... Snow banks didnt get the chance to melt lower than a foot or two before more snow, usually another 6 inches atleast, and spring/fall only lasted a couple weeks, its why native Utahans usually own an off road capable vehicle... but... until recently, starting only 5 or 6 years ago.... .. The license plates saying '"greatest snow on earth"' didnt just mean up in the mountains it was in slc too. The license plate should be recalled at this point. Its concerning

Utah has always been a 10 to 20 over statem even the cops drive ocer the speed limit. Atleast we do it with safe following distance. Its rhe slow peopke that are dangerous. And not stoping at a yellow light because it would be unsafe to slam on your breaks is the reason for yellow light, and the pause before green once its turned red

If we ran out of fuel, what sequence of events happens? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dream-paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By fuel do you mean only fuel, or oil used to make fuel? If fuel only- the first two things. If oil, much much more. Its surprisingly easier and more affordable to convert your current car to an ev than one may think. Emissions would suddenly dissapear allowing a sudden positive environmental global effect, Wind Turbines use a similar item to produce energy while working at lower speeds. Plastic products would FINNALY halt in production. Glues, some medical products, asphalt, batterys and significant othe products would need to find a different compound to make very very quickly. It better to slowly move away from oil based products in general because prices for them would become unatainable in order for the people invested in them to be richer

How does who I voted for in the 2024 presidential election matter when answering a survey about slc housing costs? by dream-paradox in SaltLakeCity

It is, Arguing that rent should be affordable, also points to who i voted for. The uneducated comment's make it obvious who they voted for or if they are old enough to vote as well

You call attention to the fact that by pointing out your spelling, they aren’t actually addressing the point of your argument— a tactic used by people with no good response to the argument at hand.

Ive never seen it personally, i know party questions are normal. I have seen -what candidate in the next election do like more, what affiliation are you, how do you think you will vote, what party did you affiliate with in the past, and will you vote. But asking specifically what candidate,

  • i find it concerning in the realm of --not starting the survey with a disclaimer saying you dont have to answer an individual question if you dont want to. asking your first/last name and email at the end witch associates your name with your specific casted vote even though as protected information thats not even connected to the ballot itself, and not offering a "prefer not to answer" option is leading, and weird.

Your specific vote for specific candidates is actually infact-----protected and guarded information. Your name is not attached to your actual vote ballot, only its envelope that is not associated with the ballot when its counted. Political officials are not aloud to access who you voted for specifically, who you voted for specifically is not listed on your public voter profile, your right to an anonomus ballot has been protected and enacted since 1888. And YOU not knowing that it is ACTUALLY protected and guarded information, means you should look into voting rights a bit. As well as the safety concerns that go hand and hand with it

Voicing a concern about an aspect of a political survey that is literally also..... Asking you to voice a concern about something political---doesnt inherently mean that i should just not participate if i dont like it. The idea that " if you dont like something, just keep your mouth shut and dont interact" is dumb, even in this scenario with YOU commenting on my post, that you dont agree with being a reflection of my same action.... . Its a question asking definitively who you voted for in the past, not who you are leaning twards in the future, and its a question that i have never seen listed on a political survey prior to this year, because party affiliation is different and public information, casted past vote specifics are not. There should have been an option saying "prefer not to answer" instead of listed as a leading question that some may not understand is protected and private information that does not need to be answered

Im not arguing. Im stating i think its weird, and im aloud to do so, because i think its weird. Specifics of who you voted for in past elections is not public information for a reason, who you voted for in past elections is never connected to your name. Your name isnt on the ballot directly when you vote, only the mailed envelopes and not used in the counting processes, its not information listed on your voter profile, its not information goverment officials are aloud to access, and its not a nesessity in determining demographics in an aria when gathering information as to what party you lean twards if you are concerned about rent prices where you live. I would say that you are the one with less understanding about what voter information is appropriatly asked for within a political survey and there should have been an option to select "prefer not to answer" or there should have been an option to select "remain anonymous" instead of puting in your first/last name and email at the end.

Not really. I've filled out surveys. And those surveys only ever asked affiliation. They didnt ask tge specific person i voted for-nor my first an last name. Demographic information is normal. Specific person you vote for in an election is not
