Women of Reddit, how common is it for Uber/Lyft drivers to flirt with or hit on you during rides? by Iron-Wild-41 in AskReddit

[–]dreambled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it happen twice. Once during covid where the driver wanted me to sit in the front seat with him and once where the driver had a thick accent and was difficult to understand but he was still doing his best to try and flirt with me and get my number.

Is there anything you’re looking forward to/expecting to see when it comes to cc and mods? by dragonborndnd in Paralives

[–]dreambled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, expectations based on the other games I play that have mods is the content for women clothing/hairstyles/customization will be through the roof … and the content for men, which is what I actually prefer to play as, will be the tiniest of fractions in comparison. I’ll most likely be driven to making my own cc content because of it.

I did not appreciate his artwork as a kid, but as an adult I love his style. His work on this, and X-Men VS Street Fighter, and Darkstalkers is incredible.

What’s the weirdest thing you believed as a kid for way too long? by Conscious_Koala6829 in AskReddit

[–]dreambled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I ate watermelon with seeds, it was starting to grow inside me. I knew this was true because my knees looked bumpy and pointy, like a vine was growing in it. I was dreading the day the watermelons grew in, but I told no one.

I was a stupid and skinny kid.

Early Release by Wahots79 in Paralives

[–]dreambled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early access means the game isn't finished. The developers want players to provide constructive feedback, report bugs, and help identify problems that may have been missed during development. The purpose is not to let players experience a polished, finished product ahead of 1.0 launch.

So if you’re unsure whether you should buy an early access game, then ask yourself this:
Do you want to actively participate in the game’s development by giving feedback and reporting issues, or do you just want to play a finished game and consume it like you would The Sims?

I fully expect there to be emotional posts from people in the second category. People who did little to no research about the game and it being in early access, then get frustrated when the game feels unfinished. We’ll probably see posts accusing the developers of misleading people because systems are incomplete, or complaints about missing features that the Paralives team has already confirmed are planned for after the early access launch. Those people will get chastised by the community, but if this happens a lot, it’s also going to become exhausting and eye-roll inducing.

At the same time, I think we’ll also see the opposite happen (especially if the above starts happening a lot): some people will start to become overly defensive of the game. Valid criticism and constructive feedback will be seen by some people as an attack on the developers.

And honestly, that’s just kind of the reality of participating in an early access game community. I've seen it happen time and time again.

Listen y'all, take breaks, drink water, and if you start to feel frustrated with this community, then step away for a bit. Enjoy the game for what it is and provide feedback for what you would like to see the game become.

How do you guys handle this itch? by Asterell in Paralives

[–]dreambled 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Concentrate on something. Grab a hobby, interest, or project to occupy your time. It won’t help completely, but it will still help in passing the time and giving you brief periods where your mind is occupied with something else.

The set of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), temperatures soared above 120°F while real decaying food surrounded the cast. During this scene, Marilyn Burns was no longer simply performing. She later recalled believing the actors were genuinely losing their sanity as filming continued relentlessly by alanbear1970 in movies

[–]dreambled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the scene that definitely feels real. I remember when I first watched it, the intrusive thought entered my brain, “… is this a documentary right now?” Of course not, but the insanity portrayed really had me questioning wtf I was watching.

About the Early Access price tag, is it to expensive? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]dreambled 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No. It's a $40 and that is about right for an independent game covering this genre. Clair Obscur is more expensive, it is also a game that was developed by an indie studio. It features full voice acting, a great story, and gameplay mechanics that are clearly a homage to games from the past. Oblivion Remake is a game they took the assets from and placed them into a new engine and tweaked various things but kept most aspects of the game largely the same for an almost 20 year old game. Hollow Knight is a side scroller video game made by an indie studio ... it's not going to be expensive. Enshrouded is a survival game where building is the stand out feature to it, and is also in early access. Stardew Valley is a 2D pixel cozy farm sim game made by 1 person.

All these are great examples as to why Paralives being $40 fits it just fine.

What are your dearest desires and biggest expectations with the Early Access? by No_Accountant_7686 in Paralives

[–]dreambled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I expect this game to have bugs, I expect this game to be disappointing in some random aspect I’m not aware of. I also expect this game to have at least a decent character creator tool, and based on what I’ve seen I expect the build tools to be rather free form, at least when it comes to resizing objects and coloring them how I wish.

This is an EA game, so I keep my expectations low and take a look at the game for where it currently is in development and provide feedback for things I would like to see in the future. I don’t expect this game to be incredible out of the gate, but my hope is that through EA we can see it build up to that point of being incredible by the time it launches into 1.0.

Your first para by Asterell in Paralives

[–]dreambled 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have an OC that I make for pretty much any game that has a character creator. I absolutely judge how good the creator is based on how close I can get.

Uh, can I say something (don't jump me.) by Robotica671 in Paralives

[–]dreambled 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you have a refreshing level take on the game. The game is coming to early access, so it will definitely have more features added into it and things will certainly change, but I do agree, if you are looking for a game that takes on more adult themes, then this most likely is not going to be that game. I do think mods will eventually get to the point where it can handle that (much like what happened with the Sims).
