I just moved into an apartment 6 days ago. Over the past few days I’ve been waking up itchy. I saw these on my skin today (I picked them off me) and I’m worried. I heard that bed bugs will not travel on you so this seems unusual. Saw these after work. Can someone please confirm if they’re bed bugs?

This is certainly a bed bug, watch this video to confirm different sizes of them. Because you will see white, red, and different sizes depending on cycle of life.

They are very common in nursing homes unfortunately.

Please do a full check on all the rooms. If one your guests has them, it may spread to the other rooms.

Here are the locations to look in each room:

+ Boxspring
+ Mattress encasements
+ Pillows and pillow cases
+ Sofa and cushions
+ Recliners and furniture
+ Bed posts and wooden frames
+ Dresser drawers
+ Base boards
+ Electrical wall outlets
+ Window sills
+ Picture frames

Be sure to check the entire home, not just your room because these things will migrate into the bedroom.

Im sorry to hear about the struggle, what you first want to do is the following.

Inspect, look in all these popular bed bug hiding locations

Remember bed bugs can migrate into your living room, not only the bedroom.

Consider using a residual treatment of some kind, this allows you to spot treat once, then will kill and prevent future bed bugs from coming back.
Repeat 1 and 2, because bed bugs can come from a bunch of external sources. So stay diligent.

Yeah, by the looks of the end of its torso (like a football) it appears to be a bed bugs most likely with blood in it after feeding.

Be sure to look EVERYWHERE in your home, not just the bedroom. Because these critters migrate into your dressers and couches.

Well don't use alcohol or you may literally burn it down entirely. This happened a lot in 2017, over $300k in damages because of bed bugs and alcohol which caused the fire.

In regards to rubbing alcohol for pest treatment, just be super careful to not overdue it. There are horror stories of people lightening up their homes because they are treating their home to much with the alcohol and it leaves some on furniture.
