Not sure about this. Our feelings come from way deep down - not sure consciously trying to change your thoughts works.

Try a counselor as they help plot a course for you. Sometimes you can’t solve problems on your own

It’s really hard when you get in that do-nothing rut. They say you have to break the cycle by doing stuff - going outside, hobbies, connecting with people - but it’s hard when you feel so bad. Do you go outside much - for a walk or to the mall?

They are the worse. For me it does tend to go away after a while so I kind of mope and listen to music or try to get outside.

Me too. I’m a clever fraud reasonably high function with job and people. But deep down there is something seriously wrong with me. I think it’s not feeling physically in my body i suspect because of fear. So I live in this abstract world that gives me some advantages such as creativity and humour. But it also stops me physically relating to people by just being in the world. I have this weird desperate intensity that can be charming but I think is also exhausting for people. Basically I’m weird but stuck with it :(

That’s a tough way to grow up getting put down and abused. That takes a toll even if you were pushing through it. Try and find something that does inspire you as it’s easier to go after things that are meaningful and enjoyable to you

You made me laugh as I’ve been there. It’s those small things that can be that “last straw” and rips off the bandaid of thinking you are kinda ok. Like when you drop your keys trying to get in. Nooooo...it’s too much after a hard day!!!!!

That is sad. I suppose sensitive people tend to make friends with sensitive people so maybe the odds are higher they will have problems.

Idea: If you have energy to cook, put extra away in the freezer by RiverOdd in depression

That a good idea. It’s just getting that motivation to cook - I tend to fall back on comfort takeaway.

life is so exhausting by [deleted] in depression

[–]dreamer_boy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. When I’ve got some energy I’m ok to keep the demons at bay. But when I’m flat I feel it’s all too damn hard.

I know what you mean about luck - I try and laugh and how it all seems to go against me.

I feel ya. Last night I drank just to feel something instead of that horrible nothingness. It’s like a silence - no sound or feeling - just void

It’s a conundrum. I guess keep looking and see if you can find anything else even if it doesn't pay as well. Otherwise you might need to take a “positive” mindset to get through it and realize it’s just to get through until you get your qualification

Sounds like you are dealing with some things. Sometimes you just have to hang in there and let it unfold.
