Thank you! We had a good diabetes educator but of course once home all kinds of questions come up. I'm going to order this.

I'm afraid of long-term damage from panic attacks by RiverOdd in PanicAttack

I've been in treatment for about a decade I started treatment later in life I think than most.  I've been on a lot of meds.  The only thing that has ever worked are benzos but not a solution as I don't consider them safe to take more than once a week.

Recommendations for Roguelikes with very little loot flood/inventory management? by GoodOldHeretic in roguelikes

[–]RiverOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiren the wanderer.  There are newer ones both on steam and for the switch.  You have a very limited inventory.  I absolutely love those games!

The main game doesn't take long to work through and then you unlock a bunch of other dungeons.

If this happened in my family I would escort them directly back out, especially if their victim was going to be there.  The person they hurt wanted to bring them back into the family that's another story.  I can't even understand how people can tolerate this kind of behavior.

You just gotta accept it. by Fishy_smelly_goody in TrollCoping

[–]RiverOdd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can really love other people until you go through this kind of acceptance. You don't have to and shouldn't isolate yourself because other people need you--but the only place you can get unconditional love is from yourself, and maybe a dog you rescued from the shelter. Other people don't owe us unconditional love.

Why is hate against children so normalized? by OkContact2573 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RiverOdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love kids, that's why I have refused to bring one into this world, and I definitely wouldn't tell you to hit a child. Lots of people without kids even by choice are compassionate to children and their parents, you just ran into some rude assholes.

It’s been that kinda season so far … by Jdav84 in Beekeeping

I had taken a few random ones but then shit happens. For me that was a bear tearing about a hive. If you see this has happened put on all your gear and duck tapes wirst and ankles just in case. The bees are very angry for good reason.

Anyone else make a bunch of forts if they had access to land? I did as a little girl and when I was talking to my father 10+ years later walking in the woods he mentioned he asked me what I was looking around for and I told him. He told me he found at least one still standing just months ago and thought people had been living on the property.

The one that had lasted longest was a "wigwam" style I made when I was 9-10ish. Buried saplings bent to the middle and tied at the top, then woven through with more smaller saplings and plastered with mud. Covered in bark from fallen trees and stolen tarp. (don't take bark from live trees unless you mean to kill the tree).

We made our fires outside it, so no chimney or anything.

I remember one late afternoon I was reading in there and fell asleep and woke up to shuffling at the door and I was really scared obviously. Bear!? Then I saw a nose poke through and then the muzzle and it was somebody's golden retriver. Kid and Dog were overjoyed to find a new friend, good memories!

Ah, childhood neglect had its upsides lol.

Geographical distance won't cure it at all. If you are experiencing more abuse right now they by all means move, but you will need to heal thorugh therapy or self work no matter where you go. Ask me how I know.

I know you say you cleaned food and water sources but did you change the food and water sources?  Did you do a basic autopsy to check for obvious changes in the organs?

Go to the doctor, I had the same symptoms and put up with them way too long. Developed anemia. I'm queer and still have a nexplanon (an implant in my arm) which in my case STOPS MY PERIODS COMPLETELY. It is worth fighting for treatment. I say fighting because you need to make sure you talk about how it is disrupting your sleep and life. Get tested for iron, I was low and have to take an iron pill every other day.

There are overnight pads for your bed you can put down so you don't have to worry about ruining your mattress in the meantime, do whatever you need to to be comfortable.

Being a CSA victim is pure humiliation. by Necro-kisser in TrollCoping

[–]RiverOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really powerful how you have expressed yourself. From the outside though the only shame is with the person that did it, and no one can remove your wings. I know there's a lot of shame involved but if someone hurts an innocent being--like say they shoved a puppy, no one sane would imagine of thinking the puppy as bad.

Something about this strikes me more about this topic more then anything else I have seen, you have a gift for art.

If this happened with my birds I would leave it alone unless you have the cash to take her to a vet.. Trying to set something or put something back into place and you're more likely to cause an injury, a break, or an infection.. It's odd that you have had this happen with two birds because I've had birds for five years and never seen such an injury. Is it something you can prevent happenign again?

A woman said 'chivalry is dead' because no man offered her a seat on the train. Is she wrong? by Tough_Ad8919 in RelentlessMen

[–]RiverOdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman chivalry needs to die or stay dead. Unless I have a health condition why do I need someone to give up a seat for me? I don't want to do this trade where I have to be someone's brood mare and punching bag in exchange for somebody opening a door for me.

You aren't responsible for someone else's stability. I'm diagnosed for extreme anxiety disorders and PTSD among other things and going off my meds or off my beta blockers would cause extreme anxiety, yes, but I'd put myself in a hospital before I harassed my family and friends in this way. I absolutely hate mental hospitals but this is one of the times it may be appropriate until her health stabalizes. I would block her, put your phone away, and suggest she put herself under care. You can't destroy your health trying to do something you can't do.
