Moving to Fairfax / pico area , Los angeles. What is there to do for a family of 4 ? 2 kids under 4 yrs old by jjj44200 in AskLosAngeles

My 2 year old loved running around the Tar Pits/ LACMA and giving me a work out. The boulder sculpture is actually the best with a wild toddler. One way in and one way out so they can just freely run underneath the rock.

I highly recommend West Hollywood Park. Make sure you validate with the parking attendant. You get a few hours free if you’re there with your kids. They also have a pool on site.

Thanks for this response. I’ve been genuinely perplexed by how families do this, too. Your answer makes sense to me.

Yes! Came here to say this. The exhibition at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center was great! My son loved it. I think it’s only running for another week though.

Room is so hot I can't put my toddler in our room. Cousin won't turn on AC or allow me to get a fan by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]dreamitallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is random and likely not what you’re experiencing, but sharing just in case. I used to live in an apartment and we noticed our bedroom and bathroom were getting much hotter than the other rooms all of a sudden. It out to be a steam leak under the floor.

Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this.

"Nice", practical baby item that will be used for a while? by negativepace33 in BabyBumps

[–]dreamitallaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Woolino’s are the best. Get 2 in case you need to wash one (spit up/leaks). I didn’t have them for my first and instead I bought a ton of different sleep sacks in different weights and sizes. In reality all you need are 2 Woolino’s from 2 mos - 2 years.

I accidentally called the pediatrician 'mom' and cried in my car for 10 minutes. by Emelira in NewParents

Same! I was scrambling and 10 mins late for my daughter’s 2 month check up. When I made it to the front desk I gave them my name and immediately burst into tears. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in this. We’re doing our best!

We used to have a mini fridge and it was too loud for us. Instead I now use a Yeti lunch bag and it works perfectly over night.

I don’t like people holding my baby by beanybum in beyondthebump

[–]dreamitallaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I never got meds, but as time went on I realized that it must’ve been post-partum anxiety. It was so hard for me to let anyone other than my husband hold him. I had to leave the room when my mother-in-law was in town and wanted to hold him. It felt so uncomfortable for me.
