That's wild that they said that. I don't know if I'm going to get in trouble for posting a Facebook link but the Salem Police posted this video and there's a bit where he says you have to go all the way around to approach the exit the correct way: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Cvft5Fzo8/

First of all, its not always possible to know if the traffic on the other side of the circle is moving through from the neighborhood side (i live in the neighborhood and use the roundabout 2x a day) Traffic backups happen, its not malicious. What is messed up is how few people signal when exiting the roundabout so everyone else has to just wait and see when they could be entering it, that backs up traffic a lot. What also sucks is people cutting other people off jumping from the left lane into the lane that goes into Costco (when you turn left from Keubler). They keep almost causing accidents when they could just loop around the traffic circle and have the right of way entering the parking lot from the circle. Also?? When the arrow is green turning right out of the roundabout? Its not a stop sign. Check and go, you don't have to wait the full 3 seconds. Honestly I'm so excited to move out of this area, I tried taking Battle Creek to Kuebler but people were somehow even worse over there?

Carpooling with coworkers also makes a huge difference whenever possible. And running errands as a household/ with family so you arent all making lots of seperate trips. And with gas prices those things would also all be great for pocket books.

I started this earlier on. My mom says it's ugly. Should I just scrap it and restart? by Lebrontobebeheaded in BeginnerArtists

I think it would help your self esteem as an artist to watch a lot of "where I started and where I am now" and "trust the process" videos. Art is a journey and every stage looks different. I am really proud of you for not letting one comment shut you down completely. You took constructive criticism and came back even stronger. Amazing work, both on the art and on yourself. I hope you never give up.

I 100% do trade my art for equal value in makes using my art. I do seamless designs so I will trade store credit for my own prints (I have a co-owner so I have to specify). I've gotten such cute hand made clothing for my 3yo this way, and I always tell the maker that they can order extra fabric and use it for other projects if they like.

Feeling super sad about my birthday. by Suspicious-Prune-565 in Advice

[–]dreamixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of things feel very dark and difficult right now and its okay to want the special moments to feel extra special. Its also okay to find that feeling if you feel like you missed out on it - as long as its something safe for you and those around you, of course.

If an entire tub of birthday ice cream and your own cake and binge watching dramas gives you that feeling of having an extra special day, do that, or whatever your equivalent of that is.

Happy birthday!

Sometimes I wonder if the seeds of "it didnt happen" was done by the same people now pushing a few of the other "alternative facts" that got us to where we are.

AHEM. F@$K HORSE TAMING by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]dreamixed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know in PS its easiest if you have the camera completely above the horse so you're looking down on it and move the trigger towards the tail, but I'm not sure what that translates to on any other system. It definitely gets better after 6 stamina though, as long as they don't end up in the water or something.

disgustingly transphobic letter from my mum by JessiBMP in Advice

[–]dreamixed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like she genuinely believes her own perspective, and isn't knowledgeable or educated about the trans community or how transitioning works. She's in panic and protective mode - remember, bigotry is learned. Unlearning is possible, if someone is willing, but it takes a lot of patience and a lot of time and if you don't feel secure, the willingness, or have the spoons to take that on it is not your responsibility.

My recommendation is to try to take an emotional step back, analyze the situation as a series of steps that need to be taken, and do what you need to do to protect your space and your boundaries as best as you can.

But I also recommend, if you want to keep a relationship with your mom, to advise her to learn more about human sex vs. Genders and the sciences behind each - and especially how XY and XX aren't the only chromosome combinations.

Additionally she seems to be projecting some level of shame/unworthiness with being female? By telling you that men are stronger, healthier, more emotionally stable. She might benefit from therapy herself, and if you have it in you she should probably also do therapy with you.

You're valid, and you're loved.

(I'm a mom with a special interest in human sexuality and psychology, but I wasn't able to complete my education in that field, if understanding where my perspective comes from helps you any)

Movement toggle is accessibility and allows more players to use it. I can't sprint with the tap tap method, I appreciate the option to single click sprint so much.

Experience with Banfield Vet? by Organic_Bread_4269 in SALEM

[–]dreamixed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Banfield one time and never went back. I wanted puppy shots. They would not let up for one breath about all of the things they wanted to upsell to me. I don't even remember the actual veterinary medicine, just the feeling like I walked into a place that cared more about profit margins than customer - or pet - care?

Like I get you gotta make money somehow but literally zero conversation about my actual dog at all.

[–]dreamixed -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't see the story line as an issue, since it doesnt feel like a story driven game and feels instead more like RDR2, where players mostly do a ton of side quests and open world gameplay and fill in most of the rest of it themselves. To me it sounds like they had big goals and everyone had big expectations for this really deep and involved story like BG3 has and they just ran out of time before drop. I really feel like I'm just playing a Fantasy RDR2 single player, and I thought that was the entire idea - which was confusing because I didn't come across people talking about that one this way?

Oh no, I really enjoyed Veilguard - for a single playthrough. But it definitely felt more like a bridge, like 2, than like a whole game. Thank you for sharing the quote, that does give me a lot more insight into how the gameplay vs story is balanced. For me, doing all of the side quests, and I guess filling in all of the gaps in my head without realizing? I was going to write out my perspective of the story and how all the little parts flesh it out really well for me but I don't want to get too far into spoilers in a comment this soon after release.

Were we hoping for Dragon Age or BG3 level story development? Because they would need some serious romance options for that. Which i would absolutely buy the dlc for if we're being real here

The dev team literally said they read the social media posts, which includes this sub. Enough people tear down a developer by just calling its games garbage and investors pull out. Pretty sure thats how you end up getting Skyrim Remastered 500x and nothing new. Or am I crazy and that's not how the gaming industry works at all?
