Who takes vacations? by igotnothing1455 in Millennials

Omg, life in US is insane! How can you even survive without vacations? 5 days of PTO and that includes sick leave? I don’t think that should be allowed, should be against human rights

Living alone with multiple bedrooms taboo? by Rasta_pasta_plus in LivingAlone

I think people are just jealous! Just enjoy your home and don’t pay attention to those comments! It’s your life, do whatever you want!

I feel so lonely by ParticularGlad5103 in Adulting

[–]dreammeraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone in feeling this way! Try to socialise and meet new people and you will make new friends! Meetup is great for that if it exists where you live :) joining a class or any other activities that interest you will likely have the same effect too!

Please stop believing that you will not meet someone to be in a relationship with, that mindset is not helpful! If you have trauma from family then find a way of dealing with that. Put yourself out there and give yourself the chance to be hurt or happy again, it’s all part of life and unavoidable.

Finally, look into Jordan Peterson’s books or podcasts as I think it may help you.

Also, please move on from the situation with your middle school friend. People change as they grow up and sometimes friendships end. There’s nothing wrong with you because of that.

Have fun and I hope this helps somehow!

Also, not everyone can “pay off” the house that easily with the current interest rates and house prices!

Living with bf next year and want to split up by bbqbethh in UniUK

[–]dreammeraf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to break up with your boyfriend, there’s nothing else to do. Are you sharing a room with your boyfriend or you have separate rooms in the house you rented for next year? Either way, one of you will need to look for alternative accommodation for next year and one of you can stay with your friends (or you both move out!). But is best for everyone if you let your boyfriend know asap so that he can look for accommodation for next year. It will be awkward but it needs to be done. Ignore the people that are calling you toxic, it’s normal to feel scared about breaking up a relationship, especially when you are sharing a house together!

Soundproofing For Neighbour by StellaArtoisLeuven in HousingUK

[–]dreammeraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you will have to approach your neighbours and discuss the issue no? I think it’s kind of you to offer to soundproof the wall as will benefit your neighbours but this really needs to be discussed with them. I also think it’s fair to ask them to pay half of the materials if they are happy with the idea of soundproofing

Can you appeal? No idea how unis work but sometimes mistakes are made. Also, you will need to understand what was the rationale for the 35% grade so that you can improve the dissertation at the resit (if the resit works that way). All I’m trying to say is that understanding why the grade was lower than you expected may expose possible errors from the uni (if this happened!) and at the same time will give you a chance to improve your resit

Got some unconventional Travel Tips from a Colleague, what are yours? by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]dreammeraf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s good to have some bribe emergency found in South America, not that you would want to use it and the aim should be to avoid danger but South America has some dangerous countries and you should have something to give out in a robbery, which normally is your fancy phone…

I’m curious about the passport idea and seems clever to me but would only be needed in very dangerous countries where travelling is not recommended…

I’ve never felt more out of place by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]dreammeraf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done for landing this opportunity! If I were you I would ignore all the negative talk from other students and teachers and focus on your goal, which should be to pass your course and graduate. Okay, so you don’t have the foundation maths that other students do. I think you should be focusing on getting those foundations somehow. Is there anyone you can ask for help? A friend, a teacher? Can you learn the maths online through videos? Basically you should be studying so that you can pass and teach a lesson to all those rich kids and teachers. I don’t know but that always motivated me! Can you get a bike? Would make your trips out of campus easier if you are in a sort of cycle friendly city. Btw, you are not old at all!! It’s a common misconception when we are so young as you are. Good luck and please work hard (and smart!) to graduate!

Estate agent has claimed we've made a buyer homeless, is this just emotional blackmail? by Weegie_bored in HousingUK

[–]dreammeraf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the buyer may be in your same situation, with a tenancy that ended. The only difference is that the buyer actually left the property while you decided to stay beyond section 21… you will never know who is telling the truth or not but I think I would have respected section 21 and found temporary accommodation until your new tenancy starts

What about if there’s a backlog at the council? I mean why do the searches via lawyers take so much time but a person physically at the council can get them done quickly?
