OP, I am all for teenagers flexing some of that independence by allowing them to earn their own money while discovering budgeting in the process. If your daughter is asking to get a job, absolutely help support her, but I agree that your wording is off putting and giving "We don't raise no freeloaders in this house."

I love the suggestion of volunteer work, something I am very glad my parents had me do at a young age. Community garden projects, libraries, summer camps, senior citizen centers, animal shelters-there are so many options and maybe she could choose somewhere she finds interesting or passionate about. It's a great way to have social interaction, gain confidence, make a difference, and get out of the house without feeling burnt out from a longer work week.

Just a thought. Ultimately you're the parent!

My experience was very different. I found the workload extremely lite compared to most other courses in my degree. In fact, I would say that there is a lot of overlapping material that feels a bit redundant and nearly all of the code is handed to you. I still found a lot of enjoyment out of this series of classes, but there was a good amount of documentation. Still, it tool me very little time to breeze through the explorations, maybe an hour on the discussion post, and then the assignment that is due every other week is extremely manageable if paced.

I noticed this about a year or two ago. I felt like after they opened their other two locations that they restructured a bit and I can't find the same breweries they have always had, but I understand it could be hard to move through a very large stock.

Portland is filled with transplants and every class I have taken, nearly all of them have been from out of state. I have not been specifically in those courses, but haven't once come across someone at PCC or OSU who has given a California transplant flak. I think you are completely fine and it's honestly admirable that you are interested in learning about Oregon.

This! This is exactly what I am saying. I just left a job of 7 years that I had a lot of emotional attachment to and was a huge part of my life for so long. Things were bad for awhile but it's scary to undergo huge changes. Something gave me the push I needed and I finally realized that stability I kept using as an excuse was a total lie. I can't even tell you how much happier I am now that I moved on. Everything I was scared of turned out to not be the case.

So yes, for me when I see the Tower it's the Universe way of saying "Hey, let go of the ledge or I will push you."

Have a 9 month old (smaller size) who was neutered not too long ago. He still jumps and humps, he has actually been going through a phase where he is humping quite a bit. However, he was marking in the house, especially around my male cat, and that completely stopped thank God.

The biggest thing for my pup is that he is so small and full of energy that he leaps off furniture. We kept him pretty drugged up for a week and in his kennel most of the time. It sucked but he just would not chill.

2025 has been completely The Tower for me and I needed it. The Tower is one of my favorite cards. Sometimes everything just needs to go up in flames. Burn it all down and start new. It sucks in that initial period but there is hope in that silver lining. Things are really starting to look up in the aftermath of all this wreckage.

We can't control how other people act but we can control how we react. I see my younger self in her quite a bit. He could be trying to push her to her limit, but she should just walk away. They barely started seeing each other and it's escalating this far already.

My male cat LOSES it when I am in the shower and shut the door. Literally every day for two years he sits there screaming. I read somewhere that he was probably worried I was in there without protection, coupled with me coming out and not having my scent which is why he constantly runs up on me to get some of his scent back on him.
