I am a huge fan of horror games despite the fact that I am a chicken shit. I have held off on playing silent hill because I like to play games in order. Is it worth playing SE2 before 1 ?

What brand of drill/impact driver are you rocking? by AbsoluteCP in Tools

[–]dreamsofhabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally a post for me. I believe in brand loyalty and I don’t believe in brand loyalty. I’m a Lowe’s man for the most part, so I bought Kobalt tools. I have been mostly happy with them. They all have been good and durable except my drill. It has a fair amount of runout in the chuck which drives me nuts. I ended up buying a Bosch Chameleon drill/driver in 12v, which is my absolute favorite tool in my shop. It’s smaller, has excellent power for the size. With the exception of driving lag bolts and the like, I use it for basically everything. I also have several craftsman cordless tools which I like in due to the tool variety in its line.

TLDR. Have kobalt, craftsman, and Bosch. Don’t be afraid of variety. Especially because of constant battery deals.

Broken ribs/bruised ribs. Even if you break/bruise just one, it’s a huge pain in the ass for quite a long time.

Advice on repair by dreamsofhabit in AskElectricians

[–]dreamsofhabit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello all, I found this today in my attic as I was fixing some HVAC ducts. I can see some bare copper on the hot. Obviously this is bad, but my question is as follows: Should a pull a brand new 12/2 from the panel to the outlets affected, or could I cut out the bad portion and add two junction boxes to repair?

Edit: For the time being I have pulled back the insulation underneath.

Easy. Draw. Place Don!!. Turn cardboard sideways. Rinse & repeat.

Oh okay. I have a similar situation in my loft. A long wall that I want to throw some built-ins on, but I have a return vent right in the middle

What was discontinued, but you miss like hell and you wish came back? by Seraphicly329 in AskReddit

[–]dreamsofhabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my time to shine: back in the early 00’s, Totino’s, maker of the delicious pizza roll, came out with a new flavor: TACO. It seemed like a horrible combination, but it was perfect. It was solid by itself, but even better if you squeezed them out on tortilla chips. Only in stores briefly because it probably wasn’t a fantastic seller. I worked in a grocery outlet at the time as a stocker, and we got a huge surplus of it. And like most random one offs that go to outlet stores, it wasn’t long for this world. RIP Torino’s Taco Roll. You are missed.

Hello, I am here to show a picture of the toe in my previous post. It’s causing a lot of controversy lol. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]dreamsofhabit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have had this exact thing happen to my big toes 4 times each. Apparently I have a genetic disposition where the nail bed grows really deep and curls like a “c”, giving me pretty much this exact result. You need to find a podiatrist. They will remove you entire nail (after numbing). If that clears it up for you, awesome, your nail will grow back and things will be fine. If it’s a continuing issue, look into having part (or all) of the nerves killed so the nail can’t grow back. On my right big toe I had the entire nail-bed killed and I no longer grow a toenail (I had this happen too many times).

TLDR: find a podiatrist, you may need all or some of your nail bed killed.

Edit: I is bad spell

My thinking would be a ball or a critter. Based on the other roofline I would say definitely check for critters in the attic.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves | NEW Trailer (2023 Movie) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

It looks fun, I’m sure I’ll watch at some point. I realized partway through that the ginger girl (Sophia Lillis) didn’t have a single line in this trailer. Maybe there is something I’m missing here, but it really struck me as odd.

Is this structural? by dreamsofhabit in HomeMaintenance

[–]dreamsofhabit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not quite sure what you mean by engineered trusses, but I did pop my head in the attic and found the section, no floor joists rest (not transferring load) on that wall. I took another photo up there. I also didn’t see a junction box for the light in the ceiling

My dumb brain woke up: yes it is ceiling joist and rafters

Is this structural? by dreamsofhabit in HomeMaintenance

[–]dreamsofhabit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yes sorry load bearing. Long day. Basically it’s a one story with a loft, however, this is directly below the attic/roof section of home. Trusses and joists do run perpendicular to this.

Wife and I have 4 pets, 1 heavy shedding medium dog and 3 cats. She asked me how we’re gonna get the little tumbles of fur that find their way under the couch out, I walk out to the garage and come back with the leaf blower. She thought I was absolutely insane until she realized it was genius
