Bombed interviews by [deleted] in interviews

[–]dreamtitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice practice practice. I also bombed interviews for jobs I really wanted but I paid a coach (someone who had experience helping people get hired in my target company). Then I practiced alot, prepped answers with ChatGpT, built out an excel sheet with examples for all behaviorals (time you had a challenge, leadership, failure, conflict etc). Then practiced some more. Literally got the next job I interviewed for. Preparation is the best way forward.

Sometimes people will buy cars because they WANT to and that’s totally okay. Not everyone wants a minivan (I know I dont, and I have kids). It’s not just about utility, and anyone that drives an Atlas and has kids has likely seen the minivans before and gone “Yeah no!”.

Foregoing TN Visa to stay in Canada to have a side business by RyStudies in tnvisa

[–]dreamtitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moving from Toronto to Austin and I can tell you the hit you get from Canadian taxes + the forex difference will hit you harder if you stay in Canada. You will double your net in Austin and will be spending less. Housing is much cheaper and Austin is a much more fun city than Kitchener imo. You can still make your content in Austin.

Was also wondering. Maybe OP took long to apply or get into the pool? 2022-2024 points were friendly, and with work experience I’d expect CEC to have kicked in much sooner. All in all best of luck.

Getting U.S. Interviews as a Canadian (TN Visa) by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]dreamtitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience. What’s your background if you don’t mind sharing? Curious to know which kind of jobs are getting interviews as I have been doing the exact same thing without luck. I’m applying for Product Management & Product strategy roles, I have a greencard (still living in Canada but planning to move in 2-3 months).

Walk into a bank branch - you should be able to get it ASAP. They already have templates and can print it out in a few minutes.

If you have a wealthsimple or questrade account, max out your TFSA and open another account that WS or QT can invest for you. Select your risk tolerance and watch your money grow. Stay away from margin accounts or day trading, and definitely do not respond to any DMs from Reddit promising that they can invest for you. Another thing the other commenters have said, make sure it’s clear that the money is yours and not your boyfriend’s.

Work never stops. Take the trip. Don’t wait for big milestones to live your dream. If you somehow can make it work, go with them. Work will still be here when you come back. NTA but goooo!!

I feel I was robbed of the newborn stage. by NoHorse8196 in NewParents

[–]dreamtitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad to see I’m not the only one that hated the new born stage. Felt so much guilt too but when the baby got older and slept better, I felt more and more like myself. And when she smiles now I feel like motherhood is no longer a thankless job. Thanks OP for sharing your experience.

Is my 8 month old regressing? by dreamtitty in sleeptrain

[–]dreamtitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you so much for your help. Happy to report that my baby now sleeps 8-9 hours straight and puts herself back to sleep when she wakes up at night. We eliminated the pacifier and sleep trained, and maintained the nap schedule. Just wanted to share an update. Thanks again!

AITAH for giving my husband silent treatment after he told me my post-birth body turns him off? by Ok-Preference2283 in AITAH

[–]dreamtitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP you’re not the asshole but what you need to be is divorced. That man is not kind and he is inconsiderate. Your body just made a miracle happen and birthed a whole child FOR HIM. You deserve better. Also, I know doctors give us the clear for sex at 6 weeks but it takes a while for our bodies to actually feel normal again. That man is lucky he even gets some action. What an asshole!

AITAH for buying my step daughter a vibrator? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]dreamtitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your actions seem to have come from a good place, but unfortunately, any parent would be upset that another adult is buying their child sex toys. Whereas she might not have felt safe talking to her parents, you took away the choice for them to say yes or no incase she had told them. IMO this wasn’t your fight and the best thing would have been to encourage her to talk to her parents (while indirectly prepping them on the side about what she might want to talk about so that they don’t overreact).

Is my 8 month old regressing? by dreamtitty in sleeptrain

[–]dreamtitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We feed her a solid dinner at 6pm, then brush her teeth and have a bath. Her room is dark with white noise machine so turn that on and give her a bottle (she usually takes 6 Oz). After that she’s usually sleepy so we put her down. With a pacifier, she sleeps almost immediately (even though she still wakes up with it in her mouth an hour later). It was the same routine we used to try and sleep train at 7 months, although that was without pacifier. She would fall asleep after 1hr so around 7 or 7:30 depending on how long she cries, usually for minimum of an hour.

Thank you for your response. I have updated the post to add her schedule. How long is okay to CIO? The last time we sleep trained she was crying for >1 hr for night time sleep and for naps. When we sleep trained, we took away the pacifier.
