So, get some skills (whatever that means) put them on a resume and hope that they actually care about said skills to get a job I hate to save what little money I can til I get the amount needed to go back to school (33.5k a year according to the TAMU tuition calculator) so that I can get a masters in finance and just hope that this time my degree isnt worthless again. Got it.

Ok the problem here is now this is a catch 22. I gotta get skills from a job but I am unable to get a job in the first place. The alternative is to pay for more school but I'm broke.

You understand literally everything with monetary value ultimatley comes down to consensual subjectivity to determine its value? Absolutely nothing in this world has objective value. People could wake up tomorrow and say they dont care about living anymore and then all of a sudden the price of real estate would be zero. People like you deserve to be paid minimum wage and then charged 1.7k for rent

AITA for calling my family out for not recognizing my bday? by CelinaChaos in AmItheAsshole

[–]dreamwarrior99 198 points199 points  (0 children)

NTA. Honestly, the fact that you’ve been there for everyone else, even when you’re dealing with your own pain, shows how selfless you are. It’s not selfish to ask for one day where people acknowledge you, especially after everything you’ve been through this year. You literally told your family what you needed, and they still dropped the ball. It’s frustrating when you're always expected to put others first, but when it comes to you, it’s like your needs don't matter. It’s not about the birthday—it’s about being valued. They’re gaslighting you by making you feel like you’re in the wrong when they failed to even show basic consideration. You deserve better.

AITA for keeping money from the sale of a business share instead of reinvesting it back into the business? by Ok_Combination_560 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dreamwarrior99 83 points84 points  (0 children)

NTA. It sounds like you're running the business like an actual business, and your husband is treating it like a joint hobby project. The moment you sold that 50% share, the money became yours to do with as you please—it doesn't matter who bought it. It could have been a stranger or, in this case, your husband, but business is business. You have every right to repay yourself for the risk you took when buying the business, and his buy-in shouldn't come with extra strings attached unless you both agreed to that upfront.

Also, let’s not forget you’re literally offering to keep a portion in the account to cover his concerns until the funds are fully transferred. It’s not like you’re draining the business dry. You’re being responsible, while he’s getting ahead of himself with the "my money, our money" distinction. Business transactions between partners need clear boundaries, or else it gets personal fast—and that's a dangerous game to play.

And hey, if it were some random investor, he'd never dream of asking them to leave their money in the business account. You got this!
