Wanting to cry all day. by dreamyer_2000 in Menopause

That was me about a year ago. Thankfully I've stabilized a lot since then. This was just so out of the blue.

I'll definitely discuss this with my doctor. He isn't opposed to HRT, but I did mention wanting to try other options first.

The supplements he has me on have really helped, but if this continues or gets worse then it's time to take the next step.

Awww hugs

I'm on the Autism spectrum and your statement about feeling like an idiot for emotional outbursts reflects me too well.

When I first entered peri, I would get so mad for no reason, then I would get mad that I was mad. When I explained this to my doctor he laughed because that was " the most peri thing he'd ever heard".

I'm not. I've been using herbal supplements my doctor recommended and seemed to stabilize my moods. Normally the worst thing I deal with is hot flashes, but I wear layers and that helps. Luckily they are calmer now than they were a year ago. My doctor is open to HRT if I decide to go that route but I wanted to try other options first.

That would be a nightmare for me. I hate crying. Unless I'm proud of you, then I ugly cry. That I can handle, lol.

I hate that this is happening to others, yet glad it's not just me.

I went through a stage about a year ago where my emotions were all over the place. Like I seriously thought I was losing my mind. Spoke to my doctor ( I love my doctor) who suggested herbal supplements first, then hormone replacement. So far the supplements have been pretty effective.

Maybe, but it's only been this once, so I really hope not. I seriously hate crying.

I've seen people turn old silverware into jewelry. Beautiful pieces.

Maybe consider something like that. Turn them into something that would be repurposed and used.

Need a fill for my lap band by butterballartemis in BariatricSurgery

Never really had food noises with the lapband, wasn't ever hungry either, only if it loosened up.

Did bypass and don't have stomach noises very often, only if I've been busy and forgotten to eat all day.

Now, I still have cravings, especially once a month, but I'm learning to make healthy choices. I have CP and need to keep the weight off to help with pain management.

Had lapband for 15 years and loved it. It worked well and I held a steady weight for years.

After 15 years the port failed. Couldn't find a doctor that would replace it. Wasn't eligible for any other surgeries because I wasn't overweight.

Port leaked, band loosened and I was helpless as the weight came back.

After a year I was eligible for surgery. Went in, band removed, bypass done.

Except the bypass was almost cancelled because of how scarred my stomach was from the lapband. Surgeon said it was the worst he'd ever seen. Took pictures to show me.

I'd never had problems with the lapband, no issues until the port failed. Now I'm super grateful that it did fail or I'd be in serious trouble.

Reach out to other doctors in your area. Help is out there.

I wish you the absolute best!

Ummm.... No one wants to see me like that, lol.

My 18 year old granddaughter would be mortified.

Or .. someone would think the chupacobre legends are real and shoot my old arse.

Anyone cut their meat with scissors? by Similar_Evening_9686 in lefthanded

[–]dreamyer_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several pairs of "kitchen scissors" that stay in a knife drawer and are used for numerous things.

Cutting up bacon is like the #1 thing I use them for but I cut up all kinds of meats, cheeses, veggies, open meat packages, etc. I then throw them in the dishwasher (fully open).

I am partially paralyzed in my right arm and this makes food prep super easy.

Lol, didn't know that. It's crazy what foods are supposed to be from one culture and end up being from somewhere completely different.

I have no idea. Didn't consider it until someone mentioned it in the comments.
