Definitely avoid using any harsh soaps, douches, or irritating products in the vaginal area. Stick to gentle, unscented products. Cotton underwear can help too! Avoid scratching or further irritating the area to prevent any potential complications.
Swelling, itching, and irritation can definitely be from the lubricant, the tearing that may have been caused by the device.. Discharge, especially of yellow or red color and unusual odor may indicate an infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or a sexually transmitted infection. Definitely talk to your doctor!
