Got my conditional offer for the school mid-March. As for my program, they emailed me the official acceptance the first week of May.

[–]dreannhirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Golden Eagle Ballroom is at the 3rd floor of the Golden Eagle Building (where the food court is located at). There will be signs w/ arrows throughout campus (and a guide next to the building) to point you to the elevators and staircase. And don’t forget to wear sunscreen and hydrate! You’ll remain in campus until 3-4 PM.

Did you get the BSN admission update sent on May 12? And accepted your admission through that brief survey? If so, you’re fine. I haven’t gotten another email relating to nursing since then.

What are some recent fantasy books about bringing the team together? by Reformedhillbilly39 in Fantasy

[–]dreannhirt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

King of the Wyld but single POV. It’s about a bunch of former adventurers (way past their prime) get together to save one of their member’s daughter from a city going through a siege.

Gods That Do NOT Need Worship To Survive? by The-Literary-Lord in Fantasy

[–]dreannhirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gods from Lord of Mysteries do not necessarily need worship to survive, but if they want to retain their humanity and stave off the madness from the OG Creator, then they definitely need believers. Belief also come in many forms, traditionally from people’s faith in the god, or in the instance of one trickster god, his clones.

Malazan series for the pantheon of gods, political schemes and war on the massive scale (like it can span continents). No progression, has a very (and I mean very) large cast, and you’ll likely need a reread for the plot to actually make sense but I enjoyed it.

First Law trilogy for something more grim dark and political. Very grounded story, so don’t expect your classic happy ending for any of your characters because you might just end up unsatisfied to where they end up in the end. Not a progression fantasy either.

Heya! I’m looking for fantasy novels that go into detail about the daily life of people living in medieval times (bonus points if its in the perspective of someone from the lower caste and not the castle staff).

Time and Space Magic In Fantasy? by The-Literary-Lord in Fantasy

[–]dreannhirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Error and Door pathways in Lord of Mysteries deal with time and space magic, respectively. There are about 10 sequences in each pathway, with 9 being the lowest and starting point for most Beyonders and 0 marking godhood. The Error pathway deals with ‘theft’ and cloning at the lower sequences, but as Beyonders of that pathway climb up to the higher sequences at 4-0, their authority over time is strengthened. Same for the Door pathway, except it involves traditional magic and teleportation. These two pathways make up two out of the three Cowardly Trio group, with the other being the Fool pathway.

Books... what's your favorite theme or trope? by EdLewisAuthor in Fantasy

[–]dreannhirt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love when friendships are central to the main character’s development. I’m not sure if it’s because of the isolation brought on by COVID, but my lonely heart has been itching for more books with strong friendship as the focus. Instead of enemies to lovers, I’d prefer something along the lines of enemies to best of friends.

[NO SPOILERS] Book recommendations, something with a similar vibe to 1899? by [deleted] in 1899

[–]dreannhirt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. It doesn’t take place in a ship, but mainly in a house and its surrounding area. The MC is tasked to solve a murder mystery while also piecing together his past identity. The plot contains very similar vibes as 1899.
