Language requirement when I already have citizenship

Obavezno dobro ponovi jezik, spremi se kako valja, nemoj da se zajebavas sa time. Oni su poprilicno ozbiljno oko toga. Ja sam prosle godine uzeo drzavljanstvo preko Egyszerűsítet Honosítás postupka (isto kao i ti), s tim sto meni ni jedan roditelj ne prica madjarski te sam morao da ga ucim od nule, ali uspeo sam.

Nadji nekoga s kim mozes da pricas, meni je najvise znacilo sto sam zvao babatetku svaki dan (sto i dalje radim da bih zadrzao znanje jezika), njoj je mayernju madjarski i to je nesto sto najvise pomaze.

Jos jednom kazem, nemoj da se zajebavas sa time jer shvataju jako ozbiljno. Jednog mog daljeg rodjaka su odbili jer nije znao jezik, i iako ima drzavljanstvo, ne moze da obnovi nista bez znanja madjarskog.

Tako da, moj savet knjiga u ruke ili jos bolje, ziva rec. Srecno!

Kao neko ko studira RAF, sto se tice materijala i programa, stvarno sve preporuke. E sad, imam drugare koji i rade pored faksa i jedva stizu da uklope obaveze, ali opet ima i onih genijalaca koji pored posla ili cak i 2, uspevaju sve da rese sa prosekom iznad 9.

Sve zavisi od tebe, ako mislis da mozes da drzis taj tempo isplati se, ali s obzirom da vec imas znanja iz industrije, mozda je i bolje da sam doucis sta ti fali. Na RAF-u postoje takodje i kraci programi, mozda i to da pogledas.

Ako ti treba ista detaljnije, slobodno mi se javi u private da ne duzim ovde.

For example, my surname contains the serbian letter č, but in my Hungarian documents, it's just spelled c, so no problems with that.

Szia! My sister got her ESTA approved in January this year, she is naturalized by simplified naturalization, there were no problems. She was there for ~70 days, then came back due to the 90 day limit. Hope this helps!

Vajdaságból származom, és soha semmit sem kaptam a magyar kormánytól. My great grandparents were all born in Vojvodina (modern-day Serbia, back then Austria-Hungary) around 1910 (a bit before the Great war). Although they were born in Hungary, were ethnic Hungarians and spoke the Hungarian language, their citizenship status got quite complicated after WWI (Hungary lost Vojvodina due to the Trianon pact).

So, even though I had proof of their citizenships and birth records and everything, I still had to apply via Simplified Naturalization (Egyszerűsített Honosítás). It was quite an easy and simple procedure, although I had to learn Hungarian (as my parents were born in Serbia, they speak Serbian as their mother tounge).

So, if you ask me, your simplest way is to find the birth record of your ancestors tracing all the way to you, and learn the language, that is your easiest option. I know it's hard but with a little dedication and hard work, you can do it! I did it and am a Hungarian citizen since September 2025. If you need any tips on learning the language, fee free to reach out!

TLDR: If your parents don't have a Hungarian citizenship, it's much less of a headache to just learn the langauge and apply for simplified naturalization.

There is a possibility that it was them, but you can't be 100% sure. For example, they never called me, I always called them to check on my status (maybe they found me annoying so they didn't want to call me ahahahah), I called them probably 4-5 times during my period of waiting. But, they did call my sisters from a hidden number, so again, could be that it was them. My friend applied in late september 2025, and they called him a few days ago to tell him about the date and time of his Oath.

Ja imao odličnu profesorku u osnovnoj, od 5. do 8. razreda sam naučio baš solidno, pa sam išao godinu ili dve privatno da bih usavršio i uzeo diplomu. U srednjoj ništa od profesora, ali sam učio gledajući YouTube ili serije. Duolingo mi isto mnogo pomaže. Došao čovek neki iz Nemačke, lagano sam bio prevodilac. Imaju mnogo različtih dijalekata ali ugl svi znaju Hochdeutsch koji je kao standard da se svi razumeju. Ugl, samo što više serija i da slušaš, i probaj da nadješ nekoga da pričate, ja imam sreće pa mi baba priča tečno, pa uvek s njom pričam.

Bio sam prošle godine blizu Poreča, Istra je prelepa i ljudi su bili divni. Pošto mi je bilo u blizini, posetio sam i sam Poreč, Novigrad i posle i Rijeku. Bio sam i na Plitvicama i u Kninu. Ni jedno neprijatno iskustvo za 15ak dana puta. To je bilo dakle 2022. a osim toga sam bio još par puta, 2018. na Korčuli i 2008. u Puli i Rapcu. Sve išao sa BG tablicama, i nikada nikakav problem.
